Has anyone been to this show and how is it? I am sorry that I didn't make ressies the last time we went to disney after hearing such good things about from other guests at our resort.

We saw it in Aug '03. It was okay. The show itself was interesting, but the food left something to be desired. It was hot/humid also. And the bunch of 'inebriated' guys in the rear didn't help much. We did do HDDR in '04 and enjoyed that. At least it was cooler in there.
I don't think we would do the Luau twice.

We were there in July 05. The show itself is good. My 8 year old daughter liked it too. But the food is not at all worth the price. I would have rather gone back to Mickey's backyard bbq.

We did the spirit of Aloha earlier this month. Our whole party enjoyed themselves, enjoyed the food, and enjoyed the show. We were on the free dining plan, and this is one of the few meals that we had that we all agreed] we would pay real money for if we had to!!!

We did it once (8/02) and that was enough for us. It was ok, I didn't care for the food, dh thought the food wasn't bad, ds had mac & cheese as the food did nothing for him. He's a big mac and cheese eater and didn't like this. I wouldn't go back...expensive for an ok meal and an ok show

We did the show 3 years ago - my family liked the dancing and fire act.
The chicken and ribs were ok for us. We are not gourmet people.
The salad had a bit too much dressing - but you can request a plain salad with no dressing. The dessert was some sort of flan thing - we did not eat it.
The pineapple was good.
My DD had the chicken nuggets - they were fine- just like chicken nuggets anywhere else in the Parks.

We are planning to see the show7/4/06 again. I just hope the have modified the dessert. Maybe watermelom for the 4th of July. ;)

Comments from aonther web-site from someone who went in July 2005:
"We thought the dessert was very good as well - a delicious chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce on the inside and out. " yummy - better than dessert 3 years ago - cool :cool1:

We went in Feb. of this year. It was pretty good. I was glad I went and will probably do it again someday. The pineapple absolutely rocked!!!! It was so sweet I could've eaten it for the meal! :)

Food is not the greatest. The show is ok--parts of it are good. Would I do it again? Not unless someone was traveling with us and REALLY wanted to. Just not worth the money. Dinner at Ohana is better--- better food, fun and no bugs or heat.

Hi,
We saw the show seven days ago! It was great. The food is served family style. Salad & bread appetizers. Platter of seasoned rice, roast chicken, and barbeque ribs, and steamed broccolli. Everything was delicious.
The fire performer was awesome. The dancers were quite good too. Musicians were excellent. It is just as good as a real Hawaii Luau on the island. Kids go crazy for it.

I agree. Just went last Wednesday and loved it. (4 adults in our group, no kids.) We really liked the food, especially the pineapple/coconut bread, chicken, and steamed veggies (carrots, snap peas and broccoli). I didn't have high expectations regarding the entertainment, and had gone to a "real" luau in Hawaii a few years back. I was surprised that I liked the disney version even more! The dancers/singers were great (very talented and energetic), and the fire dancer was amazing! It was a little "disneyfied" (a bit syrupy sweet at a couple of points), but we really enjoyed it.
