Luau Question...

This will be our first trip to WDW using the dining plan....I know strange since I have been to WDW over 30 times...my question is - when I make reservations for the Luau at the Polynesian do I have to pay a deposit when I am on the dining plan?? If so do they charge my credit card right then or just if I don't show up for my November reservations? I am using my debit/visa card that is attached to my checking account and that $380.00 deposit for our group is a lot!!

Back when we booked, before free dining came out, we had booked the Luau as well. We were not charged a fee on our credit card, though we did have to leave the CC. My understanding was if we did not show up - they would charge our CC at that time.

You have to pay in full unless you have a dining plan on your reservation at the time you book. Be careful booking online, the system doesn't always recognize the dining plan on your resort reservation and will charge you in full.
