Lowest publicly available winter rates for AKL and WL?

I'm thinking about trying to split a stay from Jan. 14-19 between Pop Century and either AKL or WL. The split is both to keep the costs down and experience something nicer. We've only ever stayed at Value resorts, and thought if we were going to splurge a little it would make more sense to splurge on a Deluxe rather than a Moderate.

Anyhoo...

I'm trying to plan our budget and was wondering...What are the lowest publicly available rates you guys have found for either AKL or WL (regardless of view) for the 1/1/04 through 2/11/04 time period?

Thanks for any info/advice!

I was quoted a nightly rate of approx. $177 tax included at WL (standard view) for the 1st week in January. This was with the CTH discount code that is available to everyone.

Not sure if you have AP's or not, but we just booked savanah view at AKL for $165 including tax for 1/29 - 2/01. Standard view was I think $129. This was with YPC code.

Sorry, I should have pointed out that I do not have APs (yet! ;) ).

Thanks for the replies so far. Anyone else?

...not a public rate, but I got standard view, AKL, for $121.54 per night including tax for Feb 1- Feb 4. Maybe it would be worth it to get an AP? Are you going again this year?

Here are all the quotes I got on the phone yesterday for the ap rate (code BCE) for the first week of January ... these all INCLUDE the tax:

$121. 50 - WL standard view
$139.30 - WL woods view
$156.00 - WL courtyard view
$121.50 - AKL standard
$166.00 - AKL savannah view
$199.50 - Poly garden view
$188.30 - CR wing room

The CM told me that the other code that's available to anyone should be about the same rate. :)

Thanks for the responses!

Well, I'm a little disappointed. I was on the phone last night with CRO for about two hours (two different calls...the first CM I spoke with was not too helpful). First I tried to find a room at WL or AKL with the CTH code. No luck. Then I asked what the rates would be without the code. I was told that no rooms were available except the Concierge level and the Presidential Suite...needless to say these are WAY out of the budget! LOL

Granted, I was asking for the nights of Jan. 17-18, and I understand that it is a holiday weekend, but I expected there to at least be some "regular" rooms available.

As for the APs...here's the dilemma (though it's actually not a bad dilemma to be in, I guess :) ). We are planning on moving to Orlando by the middle of next year, so we were going to wait until we were FL residents to buy the APs since they are so much less expensive (and you can just buy the season pass instead of the AP). So, I don't think the money we'd save on the rooms now would justify us buying APs before we move. Not really a bad predicament to be in, I suppose! ;)

I guess I'll keep calling back and hope to get lucky with AKL or WL. As it stands we'll be at Pop Century Jan. 14-19, which is great. We used the CTH code for the first 3 nights but couldn't use it for the last 2, so we're paying the $77 rate for those. Much better than having to transfer to ASMusic for the last two nights!

Thanks for everyone's help!
