Title says it all. Ideas could include off-site Disney affiliated hotels etc... Basically Disney on a low budget where small kids get to meet characters; Breakfast lunch or dinner (dinner preffered tho..). Ideas?

You can meet chip and dale for free at the Fort Wilderness Campfire and singalong.

While I have never been or know the price, I have heard good things about the character meal at the Swan or Dolphin being less expensive.

Yeah thx, I heard about that one, unfortunately my kids (as I suspect most who are under 35 ; ) don't know who Chip n Dale are. They want the ones they see on the Disney channel (Minnie, Donald and of course, the big 'M' ; )

There's a thread on the restaurants board where a CM updates the pricing on fixed price meals like character meals, shows and all you care to eat meals. I posted all of the ones that don't require park admission below,

As PPs mentioned Garden Grove is probably your cheapest option but will have possibly Chip and Dale, Goofy, and/or Pluto, just an FYI since you commented above about Chip and Dale. Also, wanted to add at Boardwalk Inn, they now have Bon Voyage brft w/Ariel, Eric, Flynn, and Rapunzel for about the same price as Cape May(FYI - Cape May and Ohana only have characters at brft). For the characters your kids are into, Cape May or Ohana would be best - Cape May has Minnie, Donald and Goofy, while Ohana has Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. Just wanted to mention while not a character meal, the buffet at Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge is excellent and about $26A/$15C for brft(not sure of dinner price), and then you can go check out all the animals outside at the viewing areas - giraffes, zebras, flamingos, etc. - all for free, and the Lodge is beautiful.

Wow the Boma thing sounds great - is 26 and 15 the lowest price out there? Oh never mind, I see it is NOT a characer meanl... Anyone know the numbers on the lowest priced character meal onsite or nearby of site WITH Mickey?

I no0tice Garden Grove doesnt include the tax - and we are are very large party which is why I am checking so much. Any idea what the tax is? I know there is a "resort tax" out there...

The Hilton and the Buena Vista Palace in Disney Springs both have a character breakfast on Sundays with Minnie and two other characters. The Hilton one is $30 adult/$10 child. (Didn’t find the Buena Vista Palace price online, but it’s probably similar.)

Thanks Chippy.... Anyone ever been to those 2 offsite meets? Are the characters just as 'professional' as the official Disney resort ones?

They are on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pretty regularly. My daughter knew them from that. She is almost 5.

I believe garden Grove offers a discount to AAA members. Guests dining at garden Grove get complimentary parking. Large parties are almost always subject to an automatic tip/ service fee. You might call the restaurants and get a bottom line total.

We stayed at the Hilton years ago (12 I believe) for a conference I was attending. I brought the family along since hey, free room in Orlando. We went to several character meals that trip, including one in the parks (The Garden Grill in Epcot), one at a Disney hotel (Chef Mickey's) and the character breakfast at the Hilton mentioned above. All three were good, but honestly, I liked the Hilton's the best. Why? It was more affordable and since most people in the hotel were attending the conference, there weren't a lot of kids competing for the characters attention. Our son did very little eating because he was the center of attention. I also liked it because it wasn't so rushed like I always feel at most Disney places. As far as the characters go, they wear the same costumes as what you see in the parks and they're just as professional. When we were there it was Pluto and Minnie and I think Mickey, but it was awhile ago.

DD9 favorite characters to see are chip and dale. She can tell them apart I forget how something about their teeth. They are always messing around and doing funny things. It is always a great experience when we see both of them together.

and i think plenty of people who are under 35 and know who chip and dale are.(myself included)

Nope, not their teeth. I loved Chip n Dale as a kid, but forgot how to tell the difference, which was embarrassing when my wife and I met them at the Disney Store in Times Square. I mentioned out loud that I forgot who was who, to which Chip put his paws on his hips, shook his fingers at me, and pointed at his nose. Chocolate chip nose (brown), while Dale's nose is red! Nothing like being "dressed down" by a Disney character. I'll never forget the difference again!

Oops, my bad. My wife told me there is also a difference in their teeth, so your child was right! Also something with their hair too, but I just remember the nose color.

Chip's teeth are in the centre of his mouth. Dale has his teeth showing on the sides, AND he has the little ruffle-top hair.

But the nose is the easiest and fastest way to tell!

The Garden Grove at the Swan is less.
I was going to suggest the Chip and Dale camp fire singalong.

6.5%. Automatic 18% service charge for large groups - six+, usually, could be eight+. Infants and other non-eaters count.
