Lower Fast Pass numbers?

Delta sent out an email last month saying they are waiving change fees and stuff through December, I had no issue changing my flight to August. I don't know if you can get a refund for a canceled ticket, but I know they're helping people with giving credits for future flights. I know I was able to make changes easily via the website.
Right now my flight is falling thru the cracks. Change fees are waived for March, April, and May flights and tickets purchased between March 1st and May 31. I purchased in February and my flight is June 7. 😕 I expect they will waive the fees for this time frame, too, but we will see. If I don't get the waiver, I will probably suck it up and pay the change fee. I already overpaid for the tickets, so I don't want to lose them. (I know, so add more $$$:D) Maybe I will try to call Delta though.

I can tell you that the inventory changed in one day for early May (a few weeks ago). The FPs available had been getting much better due to cancellations. I had been watching to move up a couple of FPs. Because of people canceling 7DMT went from only being available in the evenings to having times in the early afternoon. MMRR was not available at all and then was for evening. I was checking every day to see if I could get MMRR earlier. Right around the time if the announcement that they were closing indefinitely all the headliners went away completely and many of the second tier rides became scarce. That happening in 1-2 days. It was before May hit the 30 day point so it was not off site people booking them. Disney absolutely zapped the availability for early May FPs. I assume they did the same for June but can’t say that with the same level of certainty. But I doubt that this is the result of so many people booking back up trips. A lot of people don’t believe it’s going to be open in June so a lot of people are canceling or moving their trips later. I think the number being released by Disney has to be a factor too.

As to what Disney is trying to accomplish, that’s anyone’s guess but I think the fact that they’re reducing and not eliminating completely is probably some contingency to open with reduced capacity.

I am very troubled here. I have rescheduled our Spring Break trip to start on June 23. Without FP+ I am wondering what is the point? Without FP+, it may inherently turn into the worst visit ever. I also question greatly what is going on with FP+ because if you can not get anything at the 60+ window what is the point of staying on site. That is arguably the biggest perk of onsite. That would lead to further cancellations and greater guest disappointment.

Hmm...my trip is August, so I have time, but if this is the same going forward, I'll probably just cancel.
I am with you here. If there is no availability for our backup Sept. trip (and yes I have until July to monitor this situation) I will cancel yet again and try for next May. I have always found it fairly easy to get headliners for every day of our 9 day trips, so not being able to get anything good until the last couple of days would be a game changer. It might be ok if you get 3 fastpass and then same day virtual queues for the other rides. I will definitely be watching with interest to see where this goes.

I will say that if fp is a HUGE part of your WDW experience and enjoyment I would wait and see what exactly is happening. If you think not having a fp will ruin your trip then you should definitely reschedule

I understand and appreciate that Disney is more than rides and that is what makes it different and magical. However, Disney has created and trained us in a process. That process starts months out and FP+ is the heart of that process. We have been trained to use FP+ to get headliners in order to not be stand in line, "some of us" have taken that training to new levels in order to maximize the refresh method. I grew up on Disney and understand line waiting (3.5 hours to ride Splash Mountain when it is opening months), then when FP+ was created I was the designated person who ran through the park with everyone's ticket to get FP at each rides kiosks when that was the system, my children do not know that Disney. The Disney they know relies heavily upon the process that Disney has trained us on regarding digital FP+ which is what makes FP+ so huge and important. My kids really do not know what it means to wait much more than around 45ish minutes for a ride. So going into a park with non-existent FP+ and possibly packed stand-by lines would make for a horrible visit. It is hard to tell what Disney is actually doing but if what we see right now is the plan, they are going to have a great deal of cancellations because they are throwing their process out the window.

Yes! ^^^This says it all and if this is what we have to look forward to, I will most certainly cancel our trip (and my grand daughter's first visit that we have been planning for a year.) I'm willing to make concessions related to the full Disney experience, but waiting in long lines because I can't secure a FP 60+ days out is going to be a deal breaker for us.

So sad... there was really nothing left when I tried my FP+ this morning. Couldn't even get Toy Story, no roller coasters for June 8 through 12. I don't know if we will be going anyway due to current situation (and don't know if Disney will be open) but I was keeping my hopes up. I can't even plan a virtual vacation right now. I miss my DISNEY!!!!!!

Our trip is 6/8-6/15 and at MK we were only able to get Space Mountain, Pirates and Haunted Mansion. It's weird how limited availability is. Good thing is that we plan on doing Villains After Hours one night so hopefully all the rides will be open. We might add a waterpark day just to fill in the gaps. Good luck everyone!

Our trip is 6/5-6/14 and availability was actually fine for us. No Big Thunder as others have mentioned but most other attractions were not a huge issue. Only trouble was with Hollywood Studios on 6/6. No tier 1s at all. The second HS day later in the trip was fine, got MMRR, Toy Story Mania and something else.

As always, I go back daily and tweak times when I can, but it's been no better or worse except that early day at HS.

Delta has Twitter assistance as well, you can DM them if you don't want to phone them. Response can take hours but if you're not a phone people person it's an option.

Those of you getting FP+ right now are you using tickets assigned for your day or you using tickets from a cancelled trip that are dated Mar30-Dec15. I am just wondering because I am worried how it will work when my 60+ day arrives. I have the Mar30-Dec15 ticket, right now I can only see 30 days out so I did not know if it will automatically allow me to get FP+ for June 23 on April 24 or if I need to be doing something now. Any help would be great.

I assume the lack of FP is simply a way to help with social distancing and will also be used in conjunction with virtual queues.
Virtual queues sound nice... but all those people have to wait somewhere... and if you have them on all popular and semi-popular rides? That's a lot of people wandering the park within a short distance of the ride. Or crowded around the outside of the ride waiting for their entry time :(

The moment your window opens for your onsite stay the 60+ days should show. This is how the system has always behaved at least.

That could be! If that is the case, it would be helpful for those planning during that time to have the information from Disney so they could plan accordingly. I think it would alleviate some stress for those who still plan to go, while allowing others to cancel now if that doesn’t suit their needs.

Does anyone think they are holding back a large percentage of FPs so they can add more virtual queues, ala ROTR?

Sorry, I missed your post and just posted the same thing. I think this might be why there is such limited FP availability.

Ugh. We do ours next week. I might not even do them cause I am betting the park won’t be open still.

I have no idea when we will reschedule even. My tickets from American expire October. Ibought them last October and they said they r only good for 1 ur and we have no other time to go but June until 2021. I might be eating those tickets and they were expensive. Easter flight tickets.
