I hope that's possible. I'm really trying to limit my sodium intake due to high blood pressure. Are there any foods you'd either recommend, or definitely suggest I avoid in my quest for low sodium dining?

Stay away from most of the QS eateries is the best I can say. The man has suffered from hypertension since I met him and over the years mostly through dietary changes his daily med dosage is now much lower.
I would also suggest contacting Disney Dining as there is a list of restaurants they maintain for those with dietary restrictions. I'm sure they can email it to you or provide a link.

My DM developed an intolerance with salt a few years ago and because you need to have a little bit she is limited to 600 mg a day. My DH is allergic to dairy and can't have any hot spice like black pepper. We eat all meals TS including buffets and we have even been to SOA and HDDR and Disney is wonderful in accommodating both of their needs.

Definitely talk to your server at the restaurants. I’ve found Disney food to be very salty in general.

I was wondering about that. Are Disney servers pretty knowledgeable? DS is a server at a NYC restaurant in Times Square and he had a full week of training on foods, allergies, etc. However, I know that some restaurants just hand you an apron and off you go!

They are pretty knowledgeable but if they don't know, they will get the chef to come talk to you.

I agree with PPs that counter service is very salty, and probably not going to work great for a salt restricted diet. I had really good experiences at table service (Flying Fish, Citricos, Sanaa, California Grill). Chefs were pleasant and happy to accommodate. They can prepare something off menu if necessary, or leave off a sauce, etc. and they can make it taste better than you might expect. It’s not an allergy, so they have many options on what to prepare because they aren’t concerned about cross contamination.

Most foods are well salted - not just fried foods.
Salt adds flavor so they don't skimp on it! Not sure what would be low sodium.

i have same issue in past visits I stayed away from most QS, but also I was able to order burgers with no salt and didn't order the fries. You probably know that salad dressings are high in salt so salads aren't really an option. At MK try Columbia House salmon. Check prices at QS vs some TS and at TS you can specify food issues when you get ADR and then talk to chef. For example at HS the price of a burger at Sci Fi and the QS is relatively close. Same thing at MK at looking at rest.such as The Plaza vs QS. THe burgers may be a little higher but better quality and able to talk to chef abou issue.
