I was thinking that with how expensive most of the low carb items are that it would be nice to have a place to post reviews of them to let others know if they are good or gross!

Here is some of the stuff I have tried:

Atkins Shake Mix(Chocolate) - its not bad, its not sweet at all and it is very very thick. Doesn't have a huge "soy" flavor. Recommend using a blender for it though, its tough to mix.

Russel Stover Low Carb Candy- I have tried the mint patties - they are incredible!! Taste just like a regular peppermint patty!

Atkins Advantage Bars (Almond Brownie)- these are great! no soy taste! They are soft and really good! The can double as a nice dessert too - just cut in half or thirds and add some whipped cream! Yum!

I know I have tried other stuff and will post more soon!:D

ANy of the Sugar free, carb free, calorie free DaVincci syrups are awesome.

I can personally vouch for:
Dulce de Leche
Creme de minthe
chocolate and french vanilla
Kaluhi

Great post!! Being new to Atkins, I haven't tried too many things, although the Carbolite Gummi Bears taste just like the original ones...maybe a little bit chewier! :) I also have liked the Cool Ranch Keto chips...Cool Ranch Doritos are my absolute favorite, so these cure the need to have any! :)

Glo where do I get those syrups?

I love the carbolite chocolate bars (thanks Katholyn) and cookies!Although, I'm not eating them for my Alex Challenge!

I am not so fond of the Carb Solutions Taste Sensations Bars they have an awful taste to me. I am not going to waste 3 carbs on them ever again (they have lots of vitamins in them though).

I had a Vanilla Atkins Shake (the ready to drink kind in a can) it was just OK, I'll try the chocolate next time.

That's about all I've tried.

Great Topic Cyn:D

La Tortilla Factory's low carb tortillas are wonderful! You can use them to make a sandwich (fold them in half), quesadillas, wraps, pizza, and even faux wheat thins. We've had the wheat, the green onion, and the garlic and herb and like them all. What's great is that you can freeze them for up to six months, so they last quite awhile, too. They're available from www.latortillafactory.com

where do I get those syrups?

You often find Davinci syrup in the gourmet food section at Marshalls. If you can't find them there youc an buy them at www.netrition.com and pay $4.95 for shipping. Considering how heavy these bottles are this a really a bargain. Make sure to get the silver neck banded bottles. Gold band is regular syrup, silver is sugar free.

I have Dulce de Leche, Cinnamon, Cherry, Chocolate, Hazelnut, Kahlua (non alchoholic) and Amaretto.:p

What do you do with your syrups, Auntie Bon? They sound scrumptious, but I'm not sure how you use them.

Most of what I can suggest come from either www.carbsmart.com or www.netrition.com

Advantage Bars - Peanut Butter is my favorite!

Carbsense Buttermilk Pancake mix

Carbsence Pizza Crust mix

Walden Farms Bruschetta ( a ZERO carb and ZERO calorie tomato sauce)

Walden Farms Pancake syrup

La Tortilla Factory Wheat tortillas

All of these products are as good (or close) to the full-carb relatives.

These products are all ones that I will stake my WISH reputation on all of you LOVING!!

;) ;) :D

The Atkins muffin mixes are wonderful, but I'm so mad at Atkins right now I could just throw a hissy fit. They have increased the carbs in the muffins from 3 carbs/muffin to 8 carbs/muffin.
They are not that good and I won't be wasting my carbs on those anymore.

Instead we tried the Keto blueberry muffin/pancake mix and they were good, a finer texture than a regular muffin but have a really good taste. They are 3 grams/muffin.

I'm not eating any low carb products this week, I'm taking the Alex challenge :teeth:

This is a terrific thread! Keep the review coming folks.

The new Hersheys Sugar Free minatures are wonderful! I've had the Reese's PB Cups and the Hershey Almond Bars.
:D

Well, let's see...
Advantage bars...my fav is chocolate coconut and I really haven't tried too many others.

EAS pre-made shakes...ok but kind of expensive and I've only tried the chocolate.

Hershey's SF dark chocolate sooooo yummy that I don't buy them anymore.

Wal-mart just put out (or maybe its been out for a bit) a sugar free chocolate syrup, sweetened with Splenda...not bad.

Baskin Robins SF mint chocolate chip hard candies...Always have some in the car or in my pocket for when the urge for something sweet strikes...quite good.

I swear by Le Carb Frozen dessert...chocolate, chocolate-almond, or strawberry with a bit of the above mentioned chocolate syrup.

Jeeze, I just realized that all my stuff involves chocolate in some way...wow I'm such an addict.

I'm with you on that one!! :teeth:

Does your 7Eleven have Crystal Lite Slurpee's? These are great!

Its funny about Crystal lite though....I love it when I make it (of course its got Nutrasweet in the mix) but I despise the premixed, prebottled ones....yuck (most of them are made w/splenda)

Couple new things I have tried.....

Atkins ready to drink shakes - the vanilla is awesome!! (don't tell anyone but it tastes just like SlimFast!)

Carb Solutions Chocolate Fudge Almond bars ---I have been living on these!!! They are really good and go well with coffee when I am on the run at work! I got a box of 12 at my local Sam's Club for like $15 which isn't bad at all!

Carb Solutions Taste Sensations Creamy Chocolate Peanut Butter - not my favorite at all - seems heavy on the soy aftertaste and it takes a LOT of liquid to be able to eat them.

Fruit2O - did y'all know these are made with sucralose? Most of them are really good!

I have been using the Atkins bake mix since last year and it is good too - just have to play with the amounts a little when you are cooking to make your favorite recipes come out okay.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Keto - will let you know how that product line is!

Ok, I like this thread. I have been on the Beverly Hills Weight Loss and Wellness program for a year and a half, and have lost 52 lbs, although I creeped back up a few, so have gotten back on program. On this program there are low carb, high protien products. These products are absolutely great. Most are under the brand name Health Wise. Examples would include:

Hot Choclate, Peach Mango, Orange Pineapple, Maple n Brown Sugar oatmeal.

Those are my favorites.

I have found Fat Free Cool Whip to be the key to just about everything. I believe it's only about 2grams carbs, and 0 fat. It adds just the right flavor to all these products, and low carbs.

As far as sugar substitute, I have found Splenda to be the key. I hate nutra sweet, (yuk), and most other "sugar substitutes".

I was just looking at Dunkin Donuts web site one day, and was totally astounded to see the carbs listed for their most popular goodies. I found it far better to have a jelly donut rather than a muffin, or bagle. A jelly donut has 32 grams of carbs, but when you compare that to 76 grams for a blueberry muffin, well you get the picture. Now I am not saying go out to eat a dozen donuts, but I know that sometimes I just have that craving to have something sweet, and having a decaf, and "ONE" jelly donut does the trick. The key is to have just that one, and stopping there. If your anything like me you'll feel guilty as hell anyway, and probably go out for a quick mile walk to get rid of it.:smooth::rolleyes:

Atkins peanut butter cups are unbelievable. They taste just like Recees. I had a package during the movie I went to at the mall for a treat. It comes 3 to a package. I didn't think I would eat all three cups, but I did.

T o be honest, a couple of years ago when I tried the Atkins diet I had a hard time eating Atkins products. There was a very strong soy taste to the meals bars and things like that. But over time Atkins has improved the flavor of just about everything they offer. I just bought some of the Atkins brand BBQ sauce today and it taste pretty yummy! I'm looking forward to some good old fashion BBQ ribs tomorrow night for dinner!!

The Atkins products I've tried are the bread, syrup, pancake mix, shakes, meal bars, candy bars (yum!!), and chips. I personally liked all of these. There may be more but that's what I can remember right now.

I've tried other low-carb products and have like them but, for me, I've noticed that when I venture away from the Atkins things I seem to stop losing. I don't know if there might be some hidden carbs in the other brands or what the problem is but I hate to sing the praises of these products and be the cause of a stall for someone.

This is a good thread!

Ok I just got my Keto products....here goes....

RTD Vanilla shake - BLUCK....gross! (however I liked the fact that it came in a "drink box" as opposed to a can)

Chocolate Fudge bar - BLUCK - gross! Soy anyone?

Elbow macaroni - Yum! Decent flavor and texture - I made a soup with it, with veggies and chicken. It was okay.

Keto Crisp cereal is very good! Especially the cocoa flavor! And, now they've just come out with frosted flakes that are also really good!

I just saw a Carb Solutions advertisement and the chocolate chip cookie dough bars looked GREAT! So I checked out their web site and these bars have 15 g of carbs. Is that low carb??? I'm on induction right now, so maybe I have a warped view of carbs. But could anybody help me? Do you eat these bars? Are they really "low carb"?
