low carb bread

I was just at Jewel this morning--perusing the bread (sigh) aisle. I found a low carb bread, Natural Ovens Bakery Lo-Carb 1 Whole Grain Bread has 11 g. carb. 8 fiber, and 2 sugars. (the sugar is 3rd to last item) Let me know what you think?? I picked some up and figured it may be better than the Atkins white bread mix?

It is good stuff!!!

Tastes almost like full-octane bread.

It never slowed me down (but I reccomend moderation til you see what it does to you).

I like this bread toasted fo sandwiches! I keep it in the freezer and take out what I need as I need it because I'm still in the early stages of Atkins and I still am only ocassionally allowing myself a "real sandwich" LOL.

Yep...its good...Do what Cheryl said...freeze it...unless there is more than one low carber in the family...It does go bad pretty quickly. (within days) I even give it to my kids now..they don't even know the difference!!!

WOW!!!! I thought my discovery with the Natures Own was good!! This sounds even better!! I do not think it is carried down here though. What company makes it??

My mom uses a bread that has 4g carbs. She told me the name this morning, and I did see it at Whole Foods in the frozen section. She says there is a web site and is supposed to e-mail it to me.

I don't miss bread enough to use my carbs on the low carb bread. I worry that it might trigger my addiction. My mil has a slice of low carb toast every morning though. I don't know what brand she uses though.

My DH uses it daily, but I don't use it. I agree with nativetxn, I'm afraid it will trigger my love for bread, and I also don't want to waste my carbs on 1 slice of low carb bread! BUT...good to know when I move on to maintenance level!!!
