Okay, we absolutely are sold on WBC!!:cool1: :cool1: Our expectations were high and WBC has exceeded them. But there are some things I wish I had known so I am going to pass them along here...

1. Bring scuba shoes for the pools! My kids mostly swim at the YMCA this time of year and the pool there is smooth. However, the pools here are not smooth and their feet were blistered after their first THREE hour swim session in the lazy river. Seriously, the both had blisters and we had to stop in at the first aid station at Epcot for some special band aids. Tonight we let them swim but made them wear socks and both of them had holes in at least one sock when they got out. So, swim shoes for anyone who's kids still have their soft "winter" feet!!:goodvibes

2. Get an activities schedule when you check in cause there is so much cool stuff to do right here at WBC.

3. Unless you have a real attachment to your own pillow, the ones here (and the beds for that matter) are wonderful.

4. Wish I had thought to bring some tinfoil cause I always seem to need some!

5. Beach towels are provided.

6. CONDITIONER!!! OMG!! Our hair is like straw. The water here (and I mean Orlando in general) is so HARD!! :scared1: My DH has oily hair and never needs conditioner and even he is using it. My poor Dd has thick hair and I have to condition it, wash it and then condition it again and still it is not smooth. Not even when we hit the beach each summer is it like this.

We are having a blast!! It finally cooled off today and felt great! ;)

Good to know- We have looked at it online many times. We haven't stayed off site in years- but now have a family of 5, with our youngest now turning 3. As everyone knows, Disney is not very family friendly for families of 5 or more. Unless you want to pay the crazy villa prices or a family suite at music which would require all of the kids sleeping on pull out beds (comfy). We are using an air mattress for our youngest this year (actually worked great in the fall)- but outgrowing the standard rooms. Bonnet Creek looks wonderful- and we've considered it for next year- so thanks for the info!!

Thanks for especially the swim shoe recommendation. Any others from anyone else?

Glad to help....we ruined another pair of socks today but feet are looking much better.

Also, there is a viewing platform for the fireworks in building 6 on the 17th floor.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!
We leave in 16 days! Now to find water shoes in Canada at the end of winter. hum....

Cissy thanks for the info. We are staying at BC in a few weeks - Building #6 on the 16th floor/ pool view. Do you think will we be able to see the fireworks from our condo?
We're really excited for the resort and have 3 free days on our vacation where we might just sit back and enjoy the resort.

Thank you for the tips! We will be there in three weeks!

Could you please tell me what restaurants are available on site? Also, how pricey are they in comparison to Disney counter service?

Thanks for your help!

I think there are two places to eat. One is at the bar area of building three and is named something like Ecuador's and the other is a pizza place named the Cantina?? DH got a burger, fish sandwich and chicken nuggets from the bar and it was about 30.00, so right in line with most counter service at WDW. The pizza place delivers but we never ate there.

I do not know if you can see the fireworks from your room but since you are in building 6 and so high up, I would think so. Building five has only 15 floors, so you can see over it from 16 and 17.

We had an absolute blast and I can not imagine staying anywhere else when we go to WDW. Having the kitchen was important to us because we like the convenience of eating in sometimes. We ate breakfast "in" every morning as we are morning people and are up fairly early anyway. Having a hearty breakfast and then hitting the parks saved us time and money. And some nights we were simply too tired to go out so being able to throw a frozen pizza in the oven was great.

HAVE FUN!!
