Disney Wonder 9/29 to 10/2

Family of three:
Myself (39)
DS (12)
DD (7)

The children and I had been anticipating this trip for six months and as it was their birthday and Christmas presents, I was hoping for smooth sailing. It was absolutely lovely. I must apologize though to those Dis'ers I did not get a chance to meet. By 3:30 first day I know I was already by the pool with my children. They were so excited! :D

OK, so here we go. I like the block style (restaurants, stateroom, kids club, etc.) with some discription. It seems to be easy to read for those that have been before and easy to catagorize and pick up hints for those who haven't.

DAY BEFORE:
We traveled 8 hours from Athens, GA to Port Canaveral. I had an $85 room at the Radisson. What a great place. Though one can tell it has been there a long time, one can also tell that the management has tried hard to maintain it. There were small details, which I always like, like the double sheet covered blankets, colored sheets, feather pillows, lovely bath accessories and great pools that made the difference in our stay. I think the Radisson has the idea like Disney...the details make ALL the difference.

We met several families that were going on our cruise. That made our time special as well. My daughter Olivia met a girl her age named Olivia also. They became fast friends and it was cute to see them together. They even sat in the same seat during Disney Dreams. :earsgirl:

We ate dinner at the Moon Hut. You've got to try this place. It is run by a Greek family. Being a Friday night I thought they'd have more folk but we were only one of two groups. The food was very good, very generous portions and reasonably priced. We just wanted to try something local and different and I'm glad we did. The owner even gave my daughter her own Winning 3 lottery ticket that had 777 on it since she was 7. Of course we didn't win, but she was excited to look in the paper the next morning to see. It was just a bit of eccentricity like the rest of the place...antique suit cases and dress dummies in the woman's bathroom.

OK, I must get to work. Tomorrow - Port/Day One, I promise. I've got a week's worth of work to catch up on.

Francisca...
I was on that sailing too, and am wondering...Did you catch the Golden Mickeys show? If you did, what did you think of Tarzan???

:teeth:

My niece and I were also on that cruise.
We LOVED the Golden Mickey's!!
Can you just IMAGINE if Walt Disney had given up his dream, there would be no Disneyland, no WDW, no Disney cruises, not even "the Mouse".
Thank God he never gave up, he just insisted "I can do it"!
