Loved Wishes FP+

We used one of our FP+ for wishes last Saturday and it was a great, uncrowded place to view the castle show and wishes. The view from the left side was great and it was nice not having others crowded around you. We sat at the back and had room to spread out. A CM did come through at the beginning of the show to tell everyone to stand. I have done the dessert party before but think the FP viewing area is better.

We agree! It was such a relaxing and peaceful way to view the fireworks. We too stayed in the back (some on the grass before the walk way and some leaned against the back fence in order to video without light poles) and had tons of room. It was a perfect last night for us!

Great to hear! We have a FP+ for Aug. 31st and was hoping it would be worth it!

I agree. I've done both and I really felt the view from the Dessert Party to be inferior. By far. And they make you pay for that one.

Good to know! My FP+ window opens tonight at midnight and I was really debating on using a FP+ for Wishes; sounds like it's worth it! Question for anyone who has viewed Wishes with FP+, how early would you recommend showing up?

We showed up 45 minutes prior...saw the electrical parade go by, the castle show and fireworks. CM's did tell us to stand but most people didn't.

Enjoy, it was awesome to just sit on the grass after a long day!

Thanks :) This is our first time with FP+ and I'm stressing over the planning of everything more than ever!

Thanks!! That's great to hear!! I cancelled my dessert party and plan to FP Wishes instead.

I just booked my FP+ for my entire vacation tonight. I added Wishes for one night. Was going back and forth between Wishes and the Electrical Parade. Glad to hear everyone enjoyed wishes. I also know no 4th FP+ for that day. Im excited anyway.

We loved it too! I will always use one of my FP+ for a spot once a trip now, it was SO nice to hang in the back by the fence and not have people pushing and shoving to get in front of us.

We really liked it too, the worst part of getting a spot for wishes is staking it out 2 hours early and defending your space. (It finally wore on us enough that we watch fireworks from NFL now) We literally walked into the FP area a minute before the castle show started and found a spot. It's great!

Any opinions on the right side versus the left (if your facing the castle, Caseys side versus Plaza side)? Very tempting with this positive review, thank you!

September will be our first trip to WDW. We have FP+ for MSEP and Wishes one evening. Can we watch MSEP from the Wishes viewing area? Our daughter will be almost 4 if that matters for the view.

We're not too concerned about "wasting" our FP, as we have A&E at 7pm that evening and were planning to RD, go back to POR around noon and then not come back until after dinner. But if we could use that other FP for something else, then we would.

I was worried about securing a wishes fp, because it would mean no 4th for the day. Glad to hear it's worth it!
There are times where it's not worth locking up your FP for the day, that's for sure. If someone only has 1 day at MK for instance. But in most cases folks can manage to tour fine with only 3 for 1 day. If I'm going to lock up my FP for anything, it's going to be Wishes.

Which direction to you plan to head after Wishes?
If Tomorrowland, go to the side in front of The Plaza.
If Adventure Land, Frontier Land, go to the side in front of Casey's.
If you are headed to FL it may not matter a whole lot. We were headed back to BOG after Wishes and we went to the side in front of Casey's and had no problems getting out

Since you pick a side when you get there, one side could be more or less crowded on any given night. So as the PP said, choose based on where you prefer to exit.

I agree that if we were only spending one day at MK I probably would have had a more difficult time making Wishes a FP but since we had 2 days and did everything we really wanted to do, it worked out to be a fantastic ending to our trip!

ETA: Honestly not sure why the standing..when we entered the CM told us that when Celebrate the Magic started we would have to stand. We were never told that again although we did stand there were others around us sitting and nothing was said.
