After one small Disney misstep at GF (just not for us!) in August, we tried another new resort for us this past weekend- Yacht/beach Club and boy did we hit the jackpot. We stayed on the Yacht Club side. This hotel was FABULOUS! Stormalong bay was awesome, and the grounds were beautiful with the beach area, the boardwalk, the lake, etc. It was so wonderful to walk to Epcot- a real pleasure! The resort itself was spotless and beautifully decorated. the service was top-notch- everyone always had a smile, a nice word to say and they all knew their jobs. Mousekeeping was awesome! Great bars and restaurants and nice to have such a fun option with Beaches & Cream. Cape May buffet looked really cute, too and the yachtman's steakhouse smelled delicious! Also so nice to be able to walk over for so many dining/bar options at the boardwalk. We went solo (no nephew in tow) so we didn't participate but they seemed to have a really great kid's program- lots of fun poolside, some indoor crafts & games, and campfires & movies on the beach at night. We LOVED this resort!!!

Glad you enjoyed it, it's one of our favorites. We'll be back there on January 2nd. :)

We feel exactly the same way! I haven't been gone a month, and I miss the Yacht Club already!

Good to hear it, my girlfriend and I are headed to the Beach Club in 3 weeks!

Other than the benefit of walking to Epcot and Disney Studios, how was the transportation to and from Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom. I've always heard that this was the weak link in staying at these resorts.

Yes, I should have mentioned that part in my only "negative" about the resort. This was a F&W trip so we did not go to AK or MK this time. But we did wait for the bus for DTD and waited and waited and waited. 25 minutes and no bus. We just took a cab ($7). As we waited, there were lots of people at the stop complaining that they had been waiting 30+ minutes for an AK bus. The bus back from DTD was also bad. It came pretty quickly- 10 minute wait but it makes 5 stops!!! Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Swan & then Dolphin (not exactly sure of the order). That is WAY too many stops for a Deluxe resort with people paying $395+ for their rooms per night, IMO!!! ME also made the full 5 stops with Yacht Club 1st so it took 90 minutes from pick up to drop off at the airport. 45 minutes just to go around picking people up!

YC is definitely one of our favorites. We stayed there for two weeks last summer, and a week the year before. Now it's hard for the kids to give up SAB!

We stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days (YC) and loved it! The YC quiet pool was empty..just the 2 of us there every day. This is our must go to resort now. We then switched to the Poly for 3 nights and did not like it as much as YC...should have stayed there for a week instead!
