LOVED the Poly

I just got back from a 10 day trip that included 5 nights at the Poly and I loved it! I was on the 3rd floor of Samoa, overlooking the quiet pool and couldn't have asked for a nicer spot. The housekeeping was great, room wonderfully large, and the entire long house smelled of flowers all the time.
The only small issue was bus service. My suggestion is to head to the ticket & trans ctr and catch the buses there. We never waited more than 5 minutes at the TTC. At the Poly I heard tale of 45+ minute waits (we twice gave up after 20mins and headed to the ttc).
I often wondered if it would be worth the extra $$ to stay at the Poly and my answer is definately yes, although now I may be too spoiled for my ASMo Thanksgiving trip.:thumbsup2

That's where we were! I think we were in 3617? We had a gorgeous view!

I'm sure I should know this, but where do the buses go from the TTC? Just the parks? Resorts too? Thanks for the tip - we may have to give that a try in Sept. if there are problems with the bus.

The buses at the TTC go where the monorail doesn't, AK, MGM DTD & I believe the waterparks. No resorts, as far as I know.
The weird part though, is that the buses going back to the Poly were fine. Very strange!

I stayed in 3615, exact same view as that picture. We swam at the main pool just once and then fell in love with the quiet pool.

dkostel,

I'm glad to hear your trip went well. We have Poly booked for July 2008.

I was wondering if Samoa was your first request. I've requested Samoa (Tahiti as the 2nd choice) and was wondering how well the Poly does with granting requests for longhouses.

Samoa 3rd floor was my first request. I thought I got very lucky! Not only what I wanted, but ready at about noon (on a Tuesday).
Samoa was a wonderful location, close to everything.

Was the problem with the bus service at all hours of the day, how bad was it first thing in the morning?

How long of a walk from Samoa to the TTC? Did it feel like a long walk in the heat and humidty?

dkostel,
So glad you had a great time. Your post has really helped me get psyched for my upcoming Poly visit!:cool1: :cool1:

Glad to hear about your nice trip! I agree with you about the bus transportation from the Polynesian. They are SLOW!
