LOVED the AquaDuck but curious: do people ever get stuck?

My son (7) and I really enjoyed AquaDuck on Fantasy. One of the sea days we went for 6 rides in a roll! However, I did note that the attending crew member would mention as most riders are settling into the rafts something like "if it stops, don't get out and someone will come help you".

Has anyone heard about or encountered AquaDuck getting stuck?

On my 14 days on the Fantasy I never saw it but I would assume it occurs like any flume ride. The announcement is pretty typical safety talk.

I haven't heard about that, but it sounds like fun - I want to get stuck on the AquaDuck!

On the inaugural dream, there was this tiny little girl (i'd assume age, but girls nowadays look very young, but maybe 10ish?!?) went onto the raft alone.

She didn't weigh enough to have the raft touch the water, as in it didn't bend in the middle, thus reducing the width. They had to stop the ride, take out all the water, she walked down the tube to the next ladder and then started filling the water up again. I was next in line and it happened twice (same girl).

Finally, they made her sit in the front and she made it.

Do you know who gets stuck? Generally kids. Because they don't weigh enough to get the raft into the current. What happens when you get stuck? Someone comes to rescue you, and you have to crawl on out depending where you get stuck at.

My wife got held up twice last trip because the CMs were letting too light children ride who get stuck.

The instance that I saw was two not so tiny individuals that possibly tipped over.

We saw it happen quite a bit on the Dream - once to my daughter and her friend who had to "butt scoot" all the way out - but never on the Fantasy. A CM commented that they worked the bugs out the second time around.

Yep.

First time on CC, going back to the ship, looked up. Water was drained, CM was walking up to a raft, got a child out and walked the child out of the tube. As we watched, the CM had the child hold on to the CM's waist, so I'm assuming the CM had the child close their eyes and just walk. Which is a good idea, given where the raft stopped.

The CM had to walk the child through the whole tube shown; I'm assuming it made no sense to take the child to the closer end, and they did have to walk through the tube where it sticks out.

We saw it happen on our cruise while waiting to ride the Aquaduck. Some kids got stuck didn't weigh enough. The staff had to crawl through the tunnels to assist.

My son got stuck!! This was on the Dream.

He was 9. It was embarkation day and he was a little unsure about riding it. But he decided to try. Anyway my husband went down first and I met him. Asked where our son was and he said he should follow. Waited and waited. Looked up and saw the water stopped. After reading the boards, I figured someone was stuck. Then it hit me - my son! Looked at the other end and saw my little guy in the tube waving his hands for help. I panic and start yelling - my baby! Lol. I go running over and he's terrified.

The cast members were great. They climbed the stairs and went in and got him. He had to walk down the stairs to us. He was embarrassed beyond belief. The CM's said it happens and he probably just needed to ride with someone next time.

Mind you the crowd was not so happy! All those people that thought they could ride the Aquaduck on embarkation day with no line, suddenly had a long wait while they restarted the whole thing. I don't think it was our fault because they never said anything about riding double. In fact my son probably would have liked that better!

We sail again this August on the Fantasy and my son is absolutely refusing to try again. Even though he is much bigger, he doesn't want to risk it. He absolutely loathes being in the limelight. And to have all those people watching him stuck up there probably scarred him for life!

my daughter got stuck...she was 9 years old. she got stuck...in the smoke stack part.. so we see her go by....into the the smokestack turn...and then she never came out. Took about 8 minutes for a guard to walk to her. She was pretty distraught...but went right back on later.

My granddaughter got stuck. We teased her about breaking the Aquaduck. That idea tickled her so much she told Crush about it at dinner in AP. then she was even more entertained when he moved to another table and asked the people there if they heard about Sarah who broke the Aquaduck.

on the Fantasy this January wife and I were riding together...just at the end when you come around the curve to exit...there was a teenage girl stuck and she was freaking out as she could hear us coming toward her.

Our raft hit hers and she went flying into the air and her raft went out from under her. She was airborne and came crashing down right on her neck.
the force sent her on her way down to the exit...cast member was surprised to see her without her raft.

The girl got up and out but she was dazed and we told her to sit down and wait while we get some help.
Cast member at the exit told us/her that she broke "the rules" by not holding on to the raft handles at all times..."this is why we tell you do so" CM said. If another raft hits you and your holding on to your raft yours would not have been thrown out from under you.

It was at this point another cast member came running up to her to escort her to the medical bay...as she saw the whole thing from the cameras inside the ride.
glad this CM came up and assisted the girl and wanted to located her parents as well.

it all happened so quickly
but the poor girl went flying into the air and she came down HARD

remember kids...keep ahold of the raft at all times

Has anyone heard of someone that is "plus size" getting stuck. I am, as I saw someone else phrase it "Pooh Size" and afraid of getting stuck. But I really want to go on the Aquaduck

Can't speak for all times, but we went to AquaDuck a lot during our cruise on Fantasy a couple of weeks ago and did see quite a few plus size prople riding it (including a plus-plus size couple who struggled a little to get into one raft right before us) but never saw anyone getting stuck. I really think anyone who's fit enough to climb the high stairs to get to AquaDuck should be fine - with the exception of young kids that don't weight enough, who should be turned away by the CM at the AquaDuck entrance at bottom of those stairs (I did see the CMs do a pretty good job making sure kids were grouped so that each pair had a big kid before they were allowed to go up).
