I don't get threads and people saying you are a liar and a bad person and teaching your kids bad values. I love that you said PM me and I will give you examples of how we all tell little fibs to the kids when they are kids.

It really made my day as there are several threads about this and some posters make me wanna pull my hair out.

I totally agree Kelly; some people just get so fired up about topics like these and there can be anywhere from 1-10 (or even more!) threads debating if the issue at hand is moralistic or not. I'm glad the team gave a firm and honest response as to what is right and what is wrong.

Which brings me to another point: We'll be a party of 3 in December (me, DH, and DS 3). I called on Monday, about 1 1/2 weeks after my 180 window opened and was shocked at the low selection! Of course, I was trying to get into some popular restaurants, but still!!!!! Would it have been to my benefit to request a party size other than 3? Kind of like the "2" trick?

The guys hit the nail on its head. It is a flawed system. So you either roll over and cry poor me when you can't get what you desire or learn how to work the system.

I called earlier this week for an ADR in late Sept for 3. I could have eaten at 5:30 or 9:00. Neither was acceptable. I thanked the CM and said I would called back later after I checked with my party. I called back 5 minutes later and was able to get an ADR for 4 at 7:30, the time I really wanted to have dinner. Do I feel guilty? Nope. Am I going to rot in h$ll dor having lied that I have 4 when there are really 3 of us? Probably not, I'll be there for other things.

I've read some of the threads mentioned. People really need to chill out.

I loved it too. I think it should play automatically when anyone signs on to the DISboards so everyone can hear it. Along with Pete's rant about re-fillable mugs..."It's SODA people!"

It amazes me how people get SO upset over stuff like this. Sometimes I read those threads just for a bit of entertainment, it stuns me how judgemental and moralistic people will get over an ADR.

Honestly? I can understand someone thinking that "abusing" the mug thing isn't right, but it's a personal thing IMHO. I don't drink soda and believe it or not my nieces actually prefer water, so I've never even bought one of the mugs, but if I saw someone taking their mug to every resort on property to fill it, I doubt I'd even think about it, let alone post a diatribe about it.

I wish I had known this secret before our honeymoon. We wandered around not able to get reservations anywhere (even though we could see open tables), and we ended up eating hotdogs more nights than we wanted to Had I known I could have just said table for three! Or we could have done like in Lars and the Real Girl...we could have brought a doll with us! Haha.

What always cracks me up is you can just about bet the people that appear to have the highest "morality" in their posts are probably some of the worst offenders. I have always felt there are a large percentage of people that use these discussion boards to create the person they would truly like to be, but in the real world they just can't live up to the standards they're trying to set.

Nothing really happened per se. But from Kevin's rant on this week's podcast about how some people get upset and/or morally outraged when 2 people make an ADR and "pretending" they are 4 people so they can get a table...because the Disney reservation system is flawed...got us talking about the equally morally outraged people who get upset because some people buy a re-fillable mug that is only supposed to be used for that trip and only at their resort, but "soda thieves" use the mug on more than one trip or at other resorts.
And as Pete says...."IT'S SODA PEOPLE!" but the "Stealing soda" threads still pop up and turn into 20 pages of debate.
