Just got back from a short (3 day) trip - my first to my "home" at BWV. I had planned a family gathering over Thanksgivng to be my first trip, but I got toooo excited and couldn't wait. Checked in Sun about 5PM to room 4133. Long way from the elevators, but good view of the tennis courts and Fantasmic fireworks. My only complaint was that when I checked in, I asked if there were any Boardwalk views available. Since this was a cash reservation, points would not be a factor. I was told there were rooms available, but that I filled "hole" between reservations so I couldn't have one of the rooms I wanted. Oh well . . . . The room was clean and well kept. Got many "welcome home"s. The parks were NOT crowded - didn't wait more than 10 minutes for anything. Got to all four parks in two days, and still had time to enjoy BWV (which is like a resort on it's own). The walk to Epcot is amazingly short, as is the boat ride to MGM. Just had a great time and I'm so glad I took the plunge and bought at DVC - just wish it had been years ago. Now I'm thinking of adding on more points!

PS Does anyone know if there are any picnic tables at BWV besides the one by the quiet pool? thanks

BWV is one of my home resorts and we love it! As for the Boardwalk view rooms, I thought that someone here mentioned those rooms are specifically for the members and that they can not be rented out through CRO. I wonder why since you are a member you could not get one of those rooms. Did you go through MS or CRO when you made your reservations?

yes they can be rented out by CRO - the 5% that DVD kepts can be rented unless they are doing maintence.

all the other things members can do (expect II) - MUST be rented to provide the money needed to do the other things.

So there are lots of cases when CRO can rent DVC villas.

Plus at the 60th day mark - all unused DVC villas go to CRO (WDTC) - to be rented out. This is a very good thing for DVC members. the money earned here goes directly to the general fund of the DVC resort (minus the cost of renting it through CRO)

The question isn't if BWV can rent out cash rooms via CRO. They certainly can. The question is if those cash reservations can be assigned a boardwalk view. As Patty3 posted, members have been told that cash reservations (either via CRO or MS w/member discount) can not be assigned a boardwalk view unless there are no member point boardwalk view reservations for the night(s) in question.

Sounds like your hooked... welcome to the club!

Glad you had a great trip! I love BWV too!

Re: getting a BW view on cash - sounds like she was just trying to do it at check in, so that syncs up with the notion of cash can't have BW view unless there are no DVC points reservations. They told her there was a filler spot - but apparently not enough nights or something. Sounds like they were expecting the room to be empty those nights between ressies and there were no other point ressies in line to take them.
