Loved everything at BCV...except....

Did I hear someone say, "Dixie Landings?" It does my heart good to hear that. I love this resort, IMO it is the BEST moderate resort! We have stayed there almost 2 times a year for the last 8 years.

I love the junk food there! Nothing like burgers, tacos, and all that counter service.

Sounds like the DVC hotels have nearly as much selection, just not all of it. Well if you can't get your junk food fix at the resort, will have to do it at the parks!!!! No shortage of that stuff there popcorn::

Yup, that would be me. We refuse to call it POR. And we also stayed there pretty much 100% of the time at WDW before VWL. We stayed there last year and still loved it! I think we will use food as an excuse to visit there!

I think like everything else related to Disney, it is all about personal opinions and each person's likes and dislikes.
We just stayed at SSR in June and the one thing we DID NOt like was Artist Pallette! We found their food selections very, very limited, especially for lunch/dinner. The flat breads, wraps and salads were ok, but not for a whole trip. The hot selection of the day, always looked less than appealing, so we never even tried those.
We never have a problem eating at CS while at BCV or BWV. We love the CS restaurants in Moracco, Japan, US, UK, Germany, Norway's bakery, and France's bakery. We also enjoy the food court in the Land--great selection. If at the resorts, we enjoy Hurricane Hannahs, Boardwalk Bakery and the market place at BC. There is also a very nice food court Tubbis at the Dolphin. Not only are there many counter service dining options to the Epcot resorts--the variety of food choices is immense.
Sorry, but I definitely do not see any "limitations or problems" regarding available and varied counter service dining options at any of the Epcot resorts.

You are very right it is everyone's opinion. And no one is right or wrong, just different opinions. But the choices are not "at the resorts". I liked the menu at Marketplace and Hannahs but I don't like eating outside.

I don't want to eat my meals at CS in parks. In fact I don't eat hardly any meals in the parks, we eat everything at the resorts. We like to clean up before a meal, fresh clothes etc. The only CS we ate during out trip was Sunshine Fair and it was very good, but that was on a night we were doing Extra hours and simply went a little early and had dinner there.

Our noon meal we want to have at our resort and be able to sit down there and enjoy it, in an air conditioned place that is pleasing to eat in. That is why we like Artist Pallette.

Just our opinion and the reason it's nice to have choices, but I would stay at BCV and BWV more often if they had a nice CS at the resort that had available seating there inside.

jade...thanks for posting that!!! I thought I was missing something :confused3 . The food courts at the mods may have a lot more choices (I don't know...we've never stayed a a moderate...yep, we're snobs ;) ), but I have always found that there are SOOO many choices of places and things to eat at BC that I have yet to try some of the ones I am so desperate to try. Although I have never had the Grilled Chicken Caesar from the Marketplace, I have seen enough of them being made to know that I will definitely have to try one in the future. I've also found it interesting to see how many CM's are in there ordering food almost constantly. One CM I spoke to said that most resort CM's in the Epcot area come to the Marketplace to get their food. She said the grilled chicken Caesar salad is one of the best known "secrets" among CM's. Truly, one of the things I love about BCV is the variety of food within your reach. Between the Marketplace, Hurricane Hanna's, Beaches 'n Cream, Cape May, and Yachtsman's...there are just so many choices!!! Add to that Le Cellier (my absolute favorite), and all the other choices in Epcot, and at BWV...there's more food withing a few minutes walk than a person can possibly eat in 10 trips!!!

I'm sorry the OP was disappointed. Personally, I think BCV has some of the best choices in food of all the DVC resorts....of course, all DVC resorts have some great options (I think the choices at SSR sound pretty yummy, and I haven't seen the new menu at VWL), but we have always been really happy with the choices at BCV.

It just goes to show....different strokes for different folks!!

And the counter service at Beach Club is a relatively new addition, not more than two years ago, all there was was a store.

There is indoor seating at the BC Marketplace....2 or 3 high tables and stools, 2 or 3 standard tables. But we just take our food back to our villa where there is plenty of indoor seating and it is a short walk. ;)

While I think there are lots of dining options at the Y&BC area....don't forget Yacht Club Galley and Crew's Knot...I do think options are way too restrictive on the DDP at the QS places. Oh wait, I probably already complained about that on this thread! :lmao:

Does anyone know if the pool bar at BWV is included in the dining plan?
If so, what do they serve. Can't find a menu for them.
Thanks

When we were last there, the pool bar was just that. They had some chips and maybe a pre-prepared sandwich. Not a viable lunch place for us.

I do recall reading somewhere that Disney matches the menus/prices to coincide with the room rates. I.e. Boardwalk has Flying fish, spoodles. All Stars has a food court. (I really do miss that food court.....All stars have a great taco salad!)

SSR has great counter service as well as sit down!! (ooops, did that slip out?...sorry, meant to say "SSR is TERRIBLE,,,DON'T STAY THERE!)

We compare all food service courts to POR Riverside (Dixie Landings). What a great setup. :thumbsup2

Now its chips and a choice between two sandwiches .......if I remember right turkey with a spredable cheese on 7 grain bread and the other choice I cant remember , but it had a green mayo on it?!?! thats it its the EAXACT same food from the bakery all prepacked YUCHH!!!!!!!!

Oh No! We love to snack on the hot dogs and nachos while we're at the pool. :sad2: Maybe if we complain enough they'll change it back.

When we were at BCV in May on the DDP, we drove over to CBR. We loved their food court. Hurricane Hannah's was pretty good too.
