We just got back from 6 great nights at Animal Kingdom Villas. All 4 of us agreed that it's our new favorite resort. DH even said we might look into buying points there in a couple of years, and he isn't a Disney fan. Buses appeared as if by magic, just the way I like it. haha. We loved the easy access to the pool and other amenities. The rooms were clean and the decor is beautiful.

I was a bit disappointed in the savannah view...we were on the left side of the resort. We always seemed to miss the animals. I guess I didn't realize it was so hit and miss. We did have a spectacular view once of 3 zebras including a baby but they were leaving (not sure what they were even doing there because zebras weren't listed as being on our savannah). That seemed to be our luck...we'd look out and an animal would be walking around the corner of the building just out of our view. Most of the time there were NO animals at all. I don't know if it had anything to do w/the construction...I asked about that at check in and was assured that it would have no effect. Still, we loved the resort and we'll definitely stay there again.

We'll be at AKV in just a few days! Sorry about your not having many animals in your savanna. We were there in 06 on the Sunset savanna and had great views, (no construction at the time) and lots of animals almost all the time. We had a watering hole right in front of our room, so I imagine that helped. Glad to hear your overall experience was great anyway, despite no animals. This has been our favorite resort so far too. Can't wait til Sunday !

I am concidering staying here on our next trip. What type of room did you have, studio, one bedroom, or two bedroom? And my other question is, did you feel far from all the parks???:confused3

Thanks

yea - some of the animals are more interested in the construction than entertaining the guest.

guess disney forgot to tell them there were entertainners.

bad humor - sorry!

haven't tried a savannah room yet - but loved the pool views - both standard and value.

the 1-bedroom at the new Kidani will be a real DVC 1-bedroom - the whirlpool tub and shower are separate - like that better myself.

We were in room 5269, a studio. Because the bus service was so great, we didn't feel far from the parks at all. It was by far the best bus service we've ever encountered. There's only one bus stop, so even though the trip to the park may have been longer, I think the total time on the bus was the same...every other resort we've stayed at either has multiple stops w/in the resort or shares a bus.
