Hi,

We are travelling to WDW on 5th June this year (woo hoo). We haven't been in June before and I think I just read that love bugs are on the loose again. Will they still be around beginning of June?

Thanks dis friends x

Not likely.

While Mother Nature makes her own schedule, the general rule of thumb is May and September.

They were around a bit early this year, but for the most part seem to have subsided.

I would think by June, you will not see any.

Kevin, can you ask Mother Nature to NOT have them any earlier than September this year? We're in town August 21-28.

I remember those creatures raining down on the car windshield, between Orlando Airport and Cocoa Beach, doing suicide bomb runs at like 65 miles per hour, last September.

At first I thought it was raining, but then the windshield wipers only made a gooey mess out of them. The windshield fluid didn't make a dent in cleaning them up, it took a lot of scrubbing at the gas station to get them off totally.

The only Love Bug I like, is named Herbie.

Cheers all, now can we just get rid of the geckos as they freak me out big time

That stretch of I-4 just north of Maitland in the area of the St. John's River and all the lowlands and marshes on either side of the interstate is the worst. It is literally like a rain shower at times with them on the windshield there are so many. I had the same problem coming back from Kissimmee last month. It's insane.

But, once again, they don't bite, sting, make noise, or anything else. They just make love, haha. And float around and land on things. But they are harmless to everything except vehicle paint.
