Ok, I'm not even done with the segment, but I have to say I love it! I'm flipping through the pics at the same time and I love those shops! Last Sept (06) we picked up some fish and chips and we ate in that little courtyard right outside of the window in pic 1469. It was wonderful! Such a peaceful place.

I loved it too! Great job Julie! :thumbsup2

The pictures are awesome as well..I enjoyed seeing them and I got some great ideas of things I might get while we're there next week!

I loved this segment also, I flipped through the pictures while you were describing all the stores. I was just there a few months ago and had forgotten all the stuff that was there. I am already making a mental shopping list for our next trip in Oct. dh is going to be so thrilled.:rotfl:

I loved it too!

Although being from the UK it was also really funny
Policemen being Bobbys etc. (We don't all talk like that!)

And I don't get why americans love burberry so much! (referance burberry perfume that was mentioned)
Alot of British people don't like it (don't flame me over this brits!), It's mainly down to alot of people that used to wear it that wern't always good! (Chavs, Charvers etc. Brits should know what I'm talking about.)

Sidenote!: Not all chavs are/were bad, and not every one that wears burbery is a chav. The company its self had a dip when these people started being associated with the brand starting wearing it, mainly because they wore fake burberry and then people did not want to buy the real brand for fear of being associated.

(PLEASE don't flame me for any of this! I'm just stating alot of views and opinions, with a little bit of fact thrown in.)

Anyway, I'm going out now to buy a bobby hat and eat some fish and chips :rotfl:

Some men might think I'm crazy, but I really enjoy shopping with Julie. My sister, on the other hand, would drive me absolutely crazy (Sorry Anna). Believe it or not, I am usually the one convincing Julie to buy things that she likes. If you like it, buy it!

We'll see if my tone changes 20 Disney stores down the road, or during Christmas when she starts looking at $30 ornaments to decorate the tree.

Please stop the hate speech against chavs !!!!!

John

PS I have no idea what/who that is...............

Don't forget to kiss your local chimney sweep! :lmao:

PS Love the segment, too. Hope Corey doesn't go bankrupt!

Well, obviously I am a burberry fan..I hope no one hates/dislikes me! *sniffsniff* and I'm obviously not associated with any bad people (some might be drawn that way though ha!)

Thanks so much to everyone! I truly enjoyed every minute of the research that we did and cannot wait to go back and do some more!

Oops!! I posted under Corey accidentally...I am using his computer. :confused3

This is Julie not Corey.

Just read through my PP and realised that hardly any of that will make any sense to anyone (British or otherwise).
I think my english teacher would kill me if she read it!

Ah well, what I meant to say was great job julie!

I just found this video on youtube about chavs and burberry it might help clear some things up, I found it hilarious.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=pGy2VqIbtmQ

It has a really strong british accent "singing" the song, so americans may find it hard to understand.

Any translations needed i'll be happy to help :thumbsup2

(I really hope it doesn't offend anyone, if it gets any complaints i'll remove the link straight away, i really don't want to upset anybody. Just trying to explain something. I think the video is a little harsh in parts and its really dramatised.)

I promise to stop talking about the whole thing after this :lmao:

I was just giggling while checking back on this and my DH walks through my office and wants to know what's funny. I told him I was just tickled that so many of the Podcasters were on my thread, I said, "It's like my little brush with fame!" He just grinned and said, "Good, That's nice." lol.:dance3:
I'm so silly.

Here's a wikipedia article on Chavs for those that are still a little unclear about it..I think it's hilarious...

Thanks Mr DB,
Might have helped clear up my very poor definition earlier, who knows chav's might get a mention on the podcast! :rotfl:

(It was also really funny!)
