I was merely responding to your statement about Disney building attractions, nothing else. The current construction taking place at MK, Disney Springs, or DHS is not building new attractions. Actually, Walt Disney is the person who called his rides "attractions", so I assumed when used the term you were also refering to rides.Yes, attractions. Not all attractions are rides, but all rides are attractions. Really, the MK just opened up an entire new area within the last couple of years. No mega thrill though, so I guess that's a failure- but I love it! Just my cup of tea!
I realize some folks just want WDW to become a huge mega thrill ride park. I don't. A lot of people don't and I'm glad Disney isn't going down that path. As it is, AK is practically nothing but a construction zone. Disney Springs is going to be amazing, with or without a roller coaster and I'm willing to wait and see what they do with Star Wars.
Disney's sole purpose (as is the sole purpose of any company) is to take our money. As much of it as possible. And have as much as possible left over after they pay the costs to get that money.
I'm not bashing them
it's what business is all about.
That's why I treat the relationship for what it is, a business transaction. I give, I get.
he supports and defends the ticket price increases because that is what the market will bear and Disney's purpose as a company is to (remember?) take as much of our money as possible.
the "get" is becoming smaller than the "give".
He is also concerned that the decision to put a merchandiser at the helm of Parks & Resorts does not bode well for the future of the theme parks from a guest perspective. I agree with Pete.

Best comment on the podcast I heard- for the little I listened because it tends to put me to sleep....
"Sure, improvements are great, but do they have to do them all at once???"
I guess now they're doing too much.
I'm a big believer in pixie dust, but even I know they don't just wave a magic wand and new attractions appear overnight.
I heard that too and sort of thought the same thing, though I also liked the part that came around the same statement that they used to do a lot more to make sure construction and refurb were out of sight of guests, they used to do a lot more work overnight and such. I have only been going for the last 5 years or so, so I can't really harken back to days of old, but if this is true it would be another example of them cutting corners on the guest experience. Its a much more expensive way to do repairs and refurbs than simply doing them during the day out in the open.
As long as there is a shortage of FP's for various attractions there is a need for more. I don't hear anyone clamoring for more thrill rides or coasters or blacktop, just more attractions. Nor do I hear anyone proclaiming that Epcot and Hollywood have plenty and don't need more.

But MK was mentioned. They just did an expansion. But apparently 'twas not enough....
But, that doesn't seem too practical to me as long as there are thousands and thousands of people who want the same thing.

I know the hub is going to work much better and it will look nice I'm sure. But I'm sorry to see the water and grass go away even though I know it has to be done.
Yes, they did. And there is still a consistent shortage of certain FP's and long standby lines for others so it 'twas probably not enough.
From a business perspective, that is one of the simplest dilemmas to address.

You make it sound like they're removing the water and grass from the hub.

So the easy solution is to do away with any form of line management and just let people stand around for hours on end in line. They'll be no shortage at least- Some people would prefer it, all the while complaining they can't get a FP+ and won't stand in standby. A strange combination of opinions, but it's true.
There's always going to be a shortage of FP+'s- there was with paper fast pass. It's unrealistic to think they can build enough "rides" that anyone who wants to experience them can do so with little or no wait.

Seems the modern day thing is, I don't want to wait my turn ever.
