Love/Hate relationship

I have a terrible love/hate relationship with the town I live in. LOL

I LOVE that I can go to the bank and the teller says "no need to show me your ID, I know who you are". (sometimes the teller is a neighbor or a friend)
I HATE that people at the bank who "know who I am" also know allllllll about my finances. LOL

I LOVE going to a restaurant and depending on the day, the waitstaff will know what we're eating and start to prepare it before we even sit down.
I HATE personally knowing all the waitstaff so they all tend to want to stand there and visit with us, even though we might just rather zone out or talk to each other.

I love the small town car repair shops, they've seen our vehicles enough to " know" them.
I HATE the small town car repair shops, they get slightly peeved when we use our own judgement and buy the cars that WE want, not the ones THEY would like us to have. LOL (I think it has something to do with ease of repair)

So what do you love/hate about your town?

I hate that my accountan't assistant is my babysitter's sister.

I love that when I go into my kids' school, everyone knows I am Hannah and Emily's mom.

Denae

I hate that when i leave my comfy/safe/great neighborhood, the rest of this city has gone down the tubes.

I love that all our neighbors are older people that are all like grandparents

I hate that our county keeps approving new subdivisions. Our schools are excellant but they can't keep up with the growth in population.

I love eveything else about our town.

Sure thing, as long as your closeish to Lakeville!

Newp, nowhere near Lakeville. But I have relatives there, does that count? LOL
Discovered another love/hate tonite.
Love that I can go through a drive-thru window, place my order and the person taking the order says "Patti? Is that you?" :lmao:
HATE that the person who took my order (and KNOWS me) now knows what my family is having for supper AND what sides I've ordered AND that I love to use my coupons! LOL

Dang.....small town stuff. Gotta love it. Gotta hate it.

p.s. I guess all I'm really saying is that I hate everybody being in my business. There's something to be said for anonymity IMHO.

Thinking about your post is funny.

I tried to think about having a love/hate realtionship with anything!

I don't think I am wired that way. I either love or hate something and generally just "like stuff".

Very odd indeed....:coffee:

I love that my town is getting new businesses and I don't have to go to Knoxville so much. I hate the traffic it is producing.

I love that I can go to the bank and tell them I need some money (OK, a lot of $$$, LOL) and they loan it w/o all the read tape. I hate that they keep loaning me money--they should say no every once in a while, LOL!

I HATE MY TOWN PERIOD!!!!!!!

The only thing I love about it is the memories of what it USED to be but will never be again!

I would love your town Patti!

I love the changing weather and the seasons here!

I hate being so far away from the pacific ocean.

I love being in a place big enough that everyone doesn't know or even need to know their neighbors business.

I hate being in a place so big, I'm scared to have someone new watch my children.

I love being so far away from our families. :)

I hate being so far away from our families.

I love that I live 4 minutes from the ocean (I just wish it was hot all year!)

I hate that we only have 1 grocery store and it's such a bully of a store that another store isn't allowed to come into town.

I love that I live in a town rated one of the Best 100 Communities for Children.

I hate that the town population triples in size in the summer when all the summer people and renters come back :)

I HATE MY TOWN PERIOD!!!!!!!

The only thing I love about it is the memories of what it USED to be but will never be again!

I know what you mean, except that I had an easier escape route than you do, Jaden. And I took it. So...

I love my town - schools, shopping, low crime/good police, excellent building codes, etc.

I hate that it is attached to the rotting carcass of a former city.

In my town....

I love that I can go to the grocery store and see 10 people that I know.

I also hate that when I go to the grocery store I see 10 people that I know.

It's all a matter of perspective.
