Well, I got an AP for christmas, and so far went in January and February...So i had to plan another trip,,,Ive gone in May before so it was decided.
so who went? ---Me, 20 year old, love going to disney, just finished my sophomore year in college.
My friend Kristen-19-hasnt been to disney in 13 years, just finished soph. year in college...
Wednesday May 11
Well Kristen came over on Tuesday to spend the night since she lives 2.5 hours away in Pennsylvania...We ended up actually getting to sleep early, which is not normal for me before a vacation--We woke up around 530 and had to leave the house by 630ish...My mom drove us to the airport, which luckily is only about 45 minutes from my house..So we end up at the airport early, which is fine, because I want to request emergency row seats --got them
i cant stand sitting in the regular rows anymore , so getting there a little early is definitely worth it for me..So we end up sitting around the airport for awhile and finally the 9:30 flight takes off on time and we get to Orlando a little before noon...After all of the negative stuff I heard about Magical Express, I was a little nervous about it, but decided to go ahead with it anyways--I had no problem with it at all...waited about 5 minutes in the line to get checked in, and then about 15-20 in the line to wait for the bus...Last May when we took Mears, we waited longer than that, so this was perfect to me...Got on the bus and went straight to POP...checked in and the room was ready...We were in the 50s section, right behind the jukebox, room 2252..We ended up just throwing the carryons in the room, grabbing lunch, and going straight to magic kingdom...Magic Kingdom ended up having the extra magic hours that night so we got to stay late..We didnt have to wait in long lines at all...We did buzz lightyear a few times and i won i got almost 600000 points, which i reminded kristen of every time we walked by the ride ! So we were just starting to go around the park and it started pouring..raining hard and harder...We decided to go in mickeys house and get some pics with the characters (she doesnt have any from when she was younger lol)...after that, we just threw on ponchos and went around the park anyway--When we went on TTA, the lights to space mountain were on, so that was pretty cool to see...one of the guys in haunted mansion scared kristen..we got in the "buggy" and he slammed on the back of it and yelled boo..it was hilarious!!
around 1130..we headed back to the hotel and my luggage was there ---it was a great first day!
Thursday May 12
Kristen's favorite character is Donald Duck--I have been telling her for weeks that Donald is the hardest character to find in the park and dont get her hopes up to finding him..(im so mean!) I was giving her an early birthday present and was taking her to Donalds Breakfast to meet the one and only donald...I told her in the morning and she was so excited! After a lovely incident with a POP front desk CM , we finally got to AK..We were the first table that donald came to see and she told him that she waited her whole vacation to see him (the whole day we were there!!)..we got some great pictures..the food wasnt that good, but she was happy with seeing donald..
After that we went around animal kingdom and did all the rides, then headed to Epcot..My goal was to get Kris to try Beverly...I made up this story about how my mom took me to try the sodas and took pictures of me trying them all so i had to carry on the tradition...i got a hilarious picture of her trying Beverly--she was ready to kill me
..Soarin' was awesome--i absolutely lovedi t!! We didnt do anything to exciting except rides, we were both exhausted from the day before getting up so early, and then getting up early today for the breakfast..went back to the hotel for dinner and just bummed around.
Friday May 13
Well there was no way I was getting up early today, so i got to sleep in till 9, then woke up kristen...We decided to go to Downtown Disney to do some shopping...SPent way to much time and money in the world of disney store, but got some cute things--my favorite was a big frame that has spots for 10 pictures--its adorable! and since we spent at least 75.00 we g ot to buy the lithograph for 5.00--its already in a frame on my wall!
After downtown disney, we wanted to go drop off all our stuff in the room, grab our mugs and get lunch..then head to MGM..So after lunch, we were going back to our room to drop our mugs off ,and i walked in my room and there is a guy standing at the sink..
I looked around, it was our room , so i was like.....hi! (he turned around and was very cute! ) turns out, the housekeeping had noticed our sink was not working right and called him to come fix it...we talked to him till he was done and then we headed to MGM ...i was very tempted to break something else to have him come back and fix it ! Well, off to MGM--as we walked in, we saw a ton of characters...Mary Poppins was there and that used to be Kristens favorite movie--so we get in line...I was told that im practically perfect in every way ( i knew this, now i just need to convince everyone else!!)
We did all the rides of course and had a blast...Tower of Terror has always been my favorite ride and Kristen was petrified of it...I got her on it and then she loved it--there was pretty much no one in MGM so we went on about 5 times
After this , we headed back to the hotel and each got a characature done..I am going to try to get a picture of it on here, mine turned out so great. Kenny Durkin was the one that did it..I told him i wanted a disney themed picture, and he ended up giving me mickey ears and put a castle in the background..im holding a park map and it says jen is loose in disneyworld...Kristen got one too , which also came out good..
We met the most hilarious people while we were getting it done though..Paul, his wife and daughter--i beleive they were from canada--tehy stayed the whole time we were getting them done and was just telling jokes and picking on us while we got them done--the time went by so quick!
so after that, it was definitely bed time
Saturday May 14
Today, we deicded to do Epcot, MgM , and animal kingdom since we wantd to save magic kingdom for the last day..On the way to Epcot we had the funniset bus driver, Sammy--he had the whole bus singing the entire ride...so at EPcot we just shopped and did all our favorite rides, we had to do the "wheres the fire" game...My dad is a fireman and kristen knows a ton of them, so we played...we lost..but itw as fun...lol...after the morning here, we went to AK and it was so hot...we just stayed on Kali River Rapids 5 times in a row..we were sooo soaked, but there were no crowds so we just stayed on there again and again...After that, we had to go back to the hotel and change and then headed to MGM...there were absolutely no crowds so we ended up doing TOT again a bunch of times...--i felt like i was on a first name basis with the people that worked there! There were 2 CMs there that absolutely made my day...Alexander and David--they were so completely in character and it was freaking Kristen out.Alexander was cracking us up with his "scary" voice..."hold on to your luggage, when it is gone, its gone for good"...it doesnt sound funny now, but we were cracking up...We asked him why he didnt smile and he said he was stuck there for eternity..David, kept doing the scary eyes, so we took a picture..everytime we saw him, he was hilarious...Maybe we were tired,,,or maybe it really was funny--not quite sure Then back to the hotel to eat and relax..then bed
Sunday May 15
It was our last full day, so we wanted to go to Magic Kingdom , since it is both of our favorites..we did a ton of rides and just sat around and peoplewatched..We didnt really do anything in particular, just walked around and did anything and everything we wanted. After this , MGM was having late hours, so we ended up going there..Went to TOT (AGAIN!) and saw both of our "friend CMs" from the night before...We saw Alexander and he was like "YOU! I REMEMBER YOU!" it was so funny..it was a great night, but of course sad, because i definitely didnt want to go home..we ended up staying til 11, then going back to the room to eat and pack and all that fun end of the trip stuff..
Monday May 16
Well, the trip was ending, but our magical express bus wasnt picking us up till 1:40--it was shopping time...Kristen had to get something for her dad, so we headed back to Downtown disney--Since i was already packed, i told myself i was not going to buy anything..Well that didnt work! I picked out a big firehouse picture for my dad and then of course found a few other things..We stayed there for a hour or so and headed back ot the hotel to eat lunch and then walk around since we hadnt seen any of the other stuff at pop, excpet the 50s building..So we went around and took some pictures then went to play in the arcade..we were bored After we won some tickets , we gave them away to a little girl who looked to be around 7 or so..she was soo excited about getting more tickets, it was adorable..Then we had to go get our luggage to try and fit our new stuff in...eventually we did, and the bus came about 10-20 minutes late..we got on the bus and got to the airport with no problem and plenty of time till our flight...
Just sat around and finally got on the plane..we had the most hilarious guy on the plane next to us which made the time go by really fast..ended up landing and went to meet my mom in the airport....and my friends boyfriend surprised her by coming to pick her up.....and then our trip was done
Luckily, im going again Sept 29 with another college friend!! ...so far, i cant talk myself into going alone, so im trying to talk another friend into going again--My family is going in november and my brother is briniging a friend and none of mine want to come--but im sure ill still get a report on here no matter who comes! sorry if this was too boring! i just got some pictures back and will add them eventually!
