Louisiana DVCers!!!

Monorail Purple&Gold... Just up the bayou from you in the sprawling metropolis of Napoleonville!

Member since December 2007. Still planning our first DVC experience.

I thought the hurricanes wiped all you folks out of south Louisiana. Only two of us from northern Louisiana????;)

You guys are making us homesick.

BTW, the wife is an LSU Grad and I went to Harvard on the Bayou (anyone know where that is?

We are Texans now (we migrated several years ago) but my wife insist that my daughter will be a Tiger (see her pic below).

I'm a fellow Harvard on the Bayou AKA Nicholls State alum!!!

Our house is "divided," too. Wife grad from LSU '99 and I grad from NSU '01.

So do you fellow Louisianaians typically fly or drive to WDW?

We normally drive. Last 2 trips we left in the afternoon and stopped for the night in Tallahassee then finished up the following morning. I prefer driving straight through, either leaving early in the morning or driving through the night, but my family appreciates the break.

Go Colonels!

Not a DVC owner yet, But we rent points from my brother in law. He owns at SSR. WE almost bought at SSR or AKV, untill the news about KINGDOM TOWERS. Now we are just holding out for KT!!!!!!! we live in HAMMOND,LA GEAUX TIGERS

We usually drive, even though we have two young children, and we split the trip going over 2 days. We're flying in June but plan to hit the "holiday road" again thereafter.

We normally drive, too. We break it up on the way going, but drive straight through back home. We can't wait to go as DVC owners. We also go to Fort Wilderness since we have a fifth wheel some of the time. I love it there but my ds age 15 prefers the resorts.

We're just the opposite. We both graduated from schools in Texas, now live in Louisiana. So our son is looking at Texas A&M, his mom's alma mater. He wore Aggie stuff since he was a baby. I used to sing the Aggie War Hymn to him as a lullaby.

And we always drive. We'll either leave after school and drive to Mobile (Daphne, actually) or leave early in the AM and drive to around Tallahassee.

Gotcha, Coach, see you next year at soccer again (-Shaun ;) )!!!

HEY SHAUN!!!! I remember how the other teachers at that "other" school used to make fun of you and your wife's "addiction". Now that we are in the club.. we totally understand!!

Looking forward to hooking up next season!!!

DVC RULZ!!!!

Now that we have DVC, we plan on driving from here on out.. although with
Gas flirting with $4.00.. maybe flying is getting closer to break even if you find a great SW deal????

We usually fly from Houston on SW and I have gotten a $79 one way flight.

Hard to drive it for that

We always fly. Much faster. Cheap on southwest as well. :yay: :yay: :surfweb:

From Northeast La. here -- in Monroe.

We have been DVC members since 2003 and go at least twice a year, sometimes as much as five times. We have always flown, usually SW out of Jackson MS.

We own at VWL, BWV, BCV and AKV.

Well, to fly from Shreveport is going to cost about $500 per person. We have to fly to Dallas, Memphis or Houston, just to get anywhere. Of course we do have Allegiant, but they only fly in and out twice a week to Sanford.

We have always driven to DW. We usually leave around 3:30am and
arrive by early afternoon. This works out well with the kids who usually sleep
most of the way. Besides, how can you fly with all the stuff we need for our
2nd home!:rotfl2:
