BostonRob, . In all fairness, it could have been the movie you chose. LOL!
.
boy! Is THIS right on the money! hubby and I go to disney aminated movies(without kids) all the time. you couldn't have picked a WORSE one to try your 2,5 year old on! (no fault of yours, how would you know?) I think the family with 4 kids behind us were thinking of turning in hubby(the biggest disney cartoon freak in the world), !! could have been me, reciting my grocery list, just to keep awake! IT was BORING!!!
maybe your 2.5 year old MIGHT have been better at nemo, who knows?
(I know I would have!)
joking aside, I really think 2.5 is too young for a movie theatre. MY grandson will be 3 in a month. I asked my son "can I take him to the movies?" answer: "no mom, he's too young. he might be able to stay still that long, but will talk through the whole thing". I think I started taking my kids at age 4. ? even then I remember having to leave the theater cause he was too bored, the people behind me were too bored listening to me explain the plot over and over again, and... gee.... I was really disappointed cause I really wanted to see how the movie ended!

(think it was "land Before Time)
after that,. I just swapped with another family... i'll take the 2 oldest kids while you watch the 2 youngest.(I always volunteered to be the "takee"

)
In my day(OH boy, here we go... back in the DAY), when I was kid (;light years ago), kids were used to sitting still. we had to sit still in church. (no wonder so many baby boomers don't go to church!

) there was NO "nursery or "juinior church".(GOD bless juinior church and nurseries). last weekend, I couldn't get my grandson , almost 3, to stay still long enough to put on clothes! "Jackson, time to get dressed!" " I Caaannn't"

.
really, at the price of thaters nowadays, you need to make sure children can stay "relatively" quiet, and know to respect others needs to hear the movie also. a nd 3 years old is just not old enough for that.
don't misunderstand, I know going to a kid's movie there will be noise. but there is an age limit. and a reason kindergarden starts at age 5. and pre-school has breaks. and sunday school for little ones only lasts a half hour.
but.. to reiterate, even for 50 somethings who LOVE disney... WALLeee was BORING!!!!!!
