Lotso? What are they thinking?

I wish they had made a Bo Peep meet-n-greet. Then we would finally know what her fate was :sad1:

I can't believe they didn't have her in the movie, and then they took her out of the ride AND the parade. I miss Bo..

:rotfl: My kids were more upset about BO than anything else. They kept asking me what happened to her. :confused3

As for meeting LOTSO I can't wait. But I love meeting any new character.

We miss Bo too! I can understand why they did it... can you really expect Andy to have held on to a Bo Peep doll all these years... but for Disney to dump her from the parade and ride too, now that's just harsh!!!!! She was in the 1st two movies for goodness sake!

Jane2073, that is so sweet!

If it makes you feel better you can think of him as Daisy's Lotso instead of the evil Lotso.

When we saw the movie this morning, I thought of this thread, and thought of this exact same thing.

Because some of us LOVE Scar, Hades, Ursula and the other villains and would love to have them in the parks same as the other characters so we weren't forced to pay extra to meet them?

Toy Story 3 SPOILERS

Ok, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in Hollywood Studios, in the Animation Building, in the featured character area that used to be occupied by characters from Up!, we now have Lotso Hugginbear?

Did I miss something? Who in the hell would want to meet him or get a picture with him? He was a totally irredeemable character, he leaves them for dead and rubs their nose in it, totally questioning their faith in Andy. WHO MADE THIS DECISION? This would be like having a meet and greet for Scar, or Hades, or Ursula. While the idea might seem cool, this isn't some Halloween thing.

I just don't get it, why not use one of the other new characters.

Does anyone know why they went this way?

I was just crushed thinking about Wheezy and Slinky Dog. I thought that the gentleman who voiced Slinky did a wonderful job. Dh said he felt like they took Bo Peep out of the story so that nothing would take away from Woody's relationship with Andy - since Bo was Woody's love interest so to speak. I'll be honest it didn't bother me too much that she was gone.

It was really kind of Woody's redemption. He's always been kind of bossy and selfish (despite being a good guy). He patched things up by the end of 1 and 2, but he really was grown up as a character in this movie.

I don't really see how Lotso is much different than any other Disney villains. So he tried to incinerate our favorite toys...but Scar killed his own brother and the Evil Queen wanted Snow White's heart in a box...and don't even get me started on how horribly evil Frollo is! Kids still want their picture taken with Lady Tremaine, the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, etc., and I'm sure the vast majority will still want their picture taken with Lotso. Andy and friends are available around the parks for meet and greets so it's not like Lotso is the only Toy Story character available for kids to meet.

(For the record, I'd love to have more of the original gang in the parks...or even Mr. Pricklepants or Trixie...but keep Chuckles far, far, far away!!)

I was hoping they would show Lotso getting chopped up in the grinder with stuffing flying everywhere but I guess that wouldn't be very Disney like for kids...:rolleyes1
We just got home from seeing the movie and the monkey SCARED the poo out of my son! He is 4 years old and after the movie he kept saying "The monkey scares me!" I hope they don't ever add that Character to the meet and greet at Disney! :goodvibes

We saw the movie today too. This is a great idea, although DD7 had an interesting reaction to Lotso. Before the movie she said he was one of her new favorites because he's a big pink bear. Knowing what happens in the movie I was anxious to ask her again after. I said "so is Lotso still one of your favorites?" and she said yes. When I asked her why she said because he's still pink & fluffy and smells like strawberries! I didn't realize my child was so superficial! :rotfl: DD5, on the other hand, thinks he's a bad boy!

We met Lotso back in May before we had seen the movie of course. My dd2 (as well as my other girls) LOVED Lotso:cloud9:
He was very cute and huggable, and the CM told me while I was waiting that he was actually a villan. I was suprised.
Anyway, Disney has lots of Villans to have pictures made with, so I dont find anything wrong with it.

I would LOVE to meet Lotso! I asked DD and she said she would, too. We do like the villians in this family, though, and she's a little older. I only hope he's still there next spring!

It's been a week since I saw the movie, and that friggin' monkey is still freaking me out...

Well I can tell you one kid that is anxious to meet lotso - mine!
She is a HUGE TS fan, and just loves Buzz. He has always been the number 1 character for her to see at WDW...he is truly her highlight there.
But she is a VERY caring little 6 year old, and as bad as Lotso is she only feels sympathy for him for being abandoned and feeling unloved. She says, he just needs a hug.

And she is constantly telling me how it upsets her, where he ended up at in the end.
So ther you go.....it is the bleeding hearts who still love Lotso. :lmao:

I have no problem having a Lotso meet and greet...

My problem is having Lotso be a part of the Block Party Bash. He's the only villian, and it just doesn't make sense to have him be a part that type of parade, where you are dancing and having fun. It doesn't seem like the place to have him.

How could you miss it? It was overpowering. You can smell it all the way into the gift shop that you exit through. :headache:

They must not have been pumping in the strawberry scent yet when we visited Lotso the first week of May because there was no scent at all.
I will say Lotso was the most cuddly, soft and hugable character we have ever met anywhere at WDW. I love our picture with him!

I guess my problem with it isn't that they have lotso, so much as they have this nice cuddly lotso. I mean, if Maleficent started pumping out strawberry scent and giving big bear hugs, I'd be freaked out too.

I guess my issue is the white wash they're giving him. If he's there because people like villains, have him act like a villain. I don't know, something just rubs me the wrong way about it.

That's all.

...I thought that the gentleman who voiced Slinky did a wonderful job...

yes, the voice for Slinky was great. in fact, i had watched a special where they talked about the voice for slinky and it turns out the gentleman (i forgot his name) was actually friends with Jim Varney. To me, that makes Slinky extra special as Jim was awesome.

I would have loved to get Ken and Barbies autographs.
I don't care for Lotso either, It's like Disney is saying that
what he did in the movie is OK. I don't want to glorify that
uncaring behavier. There are plenty of people who like that
behavier, just look at how people treat each other today,
with a "Me 1st attitute".
I won't be getting his Autograph.

We always thought that Captain Hook was cute in his way but he wasn't exactly a nice guy. And I love Maleficent but OK, she's not cute. :)

I don't see the big deal even though I'm not sure why Disney is doing this...
