hi

I have sort of floated around this site for a few months now and have discovered a wealth of information - THANKYOU :)

I still have lots of questions though - if thats ok ?

Heres what is hoped for :

Wedding at the wedding pavilion
Reception at living seas
dessert party at lower u.k

this will be for 32 guests

questions that I can think of right now are:

1) can I arrange my own transport or do i have to use disney's?

2) If I cannot book the wedding pavilion till 8 months out, when can i book my 2 reception venues?

3) how sure can you be that you will get the date you want when it is time to pay the deposit? is it offered to you first if you have it penciled in?

4) could I arrange my own transport from guests accomodation to the wedding pavilion and then from epcot to guests accomodation(offsite) and only use disney to get guests to epcot from the wedding pavilion?

5) does question 4 make sense??????????

any help appreciated

thanks

Hi, Welcome to the thread! Hopefully I can answer all of your questions for you.

1. As far as transportation is concerned, your guest can drive to the pavilion, but any events inside a park you will have to charter one of their buses.

2&3. You pencil in your wedding date at the one year mark (you can call them on the exact day) and at the eight month point you sign contracts promising your wedding and reception locations and send in the deposit.

4&5. No, question 4 does not make sense to me!

Hopefully this helps. Let me know if I can help you with anything else!!!

because you are an in-park recepttion and using the Wp you can sign and book at 12 months. Thats whats we did - so no waiting there.

you do need to use Disney transport for the Epcot locations.

Funny, they pretty much told me the opposite of what Luvndisney was told: I have to use Disney transport to Epcot for the ceremony (but not for the dessert party - they can meet at International Gateway), and the wedding pavilion can only be pencilled in at 12 months - it can't be booked until 8 months out. Once again, I think it's one of those things you just have to ask DFTW yourself, because we all get different answers.

I think I understand question 4: Can you book your own transport from guests' hotels to the ceremony and then to take them back again after the dessert party.

It is probably possible, but Disney will do all they can to discourage you. When I asked about hiring towncars, I was told something like "If you use an outside vendor and they are waiting to pick up your guests and someone asks them for a ride to the airport, they will strand all your guests to take that higher paying fare..." Nice.

However, what you want to do could be done fairly cheaply through Disney if you only need their bus to go to two hotels. It's called something like a "one-way bus" (or maybe "roundtrip bus"?) - it's not the expensive charter bus. But you can only use this option if the bus makes 2 stops or fewer...

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reply
Do these stops have to be on disney property or would they stop at villas???

Why do people contact disney at 18 months if you can't book or even pencil in until 12 or even 8 months ?

I am a bit nervous at booking our holiday until we have our date. There is going to be over 30 of us and to get on the same flights etc we really wanted to start paying deposits by the end of the year but I cannot guarantee getting the wedding dates I don't know what to do ???

Any suggestions?

Has anyone been unsuccessful in getting their dates when starting to plan this early?? also is it the same for booking the reception and dessert party - do I have to wait until 12 months before?

Thanks

Booking windows depend on where the venue is, no matter what you want it for- the ceremony, the reception, or the dessert party. Only outdoor locations (i.e. Sea Breeze Point), locations inside the parks, and Atlantic Dance Hall can be booked at 12 months. All others - the Wedding Pavilion, various ballrooms, etc. - can't be booked until 8 months out, and nothing can be booked earlier than 12 months.

I'm not sure how UK brides do this so that they can coordinate flights like you want to. Perhaps if you pick a less popular date or location you would have less competition?

Best of luck! :goodvibes

At 18 months you can get a lot more info out of WDFTW. You will be able to get with a sales manager that you can call anytime a question comes to mind. If you can make the trip to WDW you can also do a site visit. I was able to do 2 before I hit the 12 month mark, it was such a huge help.
The "penciling in" depends on who you talk to :confused3 . Some brides were able to do this before 12 months while others have not. But nothing is booked until 8-12 months. From what I understand anything in the parks can be booked 12 months out. If you are having the ceremony at the WP and a reception at Epcot, you can book the WP at 12 months too.
