Lots of questions from a newbie...

I am totally addicted on making these magnetic signs for our upcoming cruise!! I made some for our previous cruise but didn't have a lot of time to make them look really nice, so I need some ideas this time around!!!

1) What program do you recommend for making the designs? something easy as I'm new at this lol. Could I use power point or something already on my computer?

2) How do you remove wording from a picture you've saved? is it even possible?

3) This is our 2nd Disney cruise and my mom and dads first cruise ever. What do you think would make cute designs for their door??

People use many different software packages for their DISigns. I use both Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro. Others use PhotoImpact and who knows what...You can often get a trial version of a software to try out and see what works for you!!

As far as removing lettering....it is best to find the DISigner who created the original image. With Photoshop Elements it is simply changing or deleting the layer that is the name. You usually can't just paint it out since the lettering may overlap some of the image. Also the background color that you are trying to get back to may be difficult to match.

I would recommend posting the image you are referring to and someone can either step forward as the original DISigner and help you or create a very similar DISign for you from scratch.....

There are many CRUISE Disigns on the board. And many DISigners happy to create something new. Provide more info and it will be easier for them. Names? Characters? Or whatever is important to you. I have done CRUISE Disigns myself but may not have time to get just the right thing together for you in the next few days.

Welcome to the forum by the way. Just a few short months ago I was a newbie and now I am finding people like my original DISigns! Maybe I'll even see someone wearing one when I go to WDW next November!!

Thanks so much for your reply and for the cool design! I appreciate the welcome to the forum as well! I am having a blast looking up designs and images for our door. I do have one image that i found, but i'm not sure how to post it on here to show you all. It is a pic of mickey saluting with the flag as the background. I wanted to make one to put on my dads door on our cruise saying something about veterans or something to that effect (he was in the Air Force). Thanks again for the warm welcome and looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Many people open a PHOTOBUCKET account (it's FREE!!) and then you can copy and paste JPG files from there easily.

You just highlight the IMG path when you have uploaded the image and indicate COPY and then PASTE in a new reply on the board.

You'll find this a very helpful group who are ready, willing and able to assist with questions!

I found a free trial of paint shop Pro...but it is taking me a while to learn the basics of it. All of this stuff is completely new to me lol. Thanks so much again for all your help! Off to look for more designs!!
