Lots of FP availability Thanksgiving week?

Doesn't that seem weird? Do I need to book a Thanksgiving trip??

I was noticing cheap resort rates that week, too. Maybe because there is no FD, or maybe people fear large crowds? Curious to see what crowds really turn out that week.

They also just lengthened park hours and they have more hours than earlier weeks. I'm gonna cry if the earlier weeks turn out to be busier than Thanksgiving week. Stupid internet sharing all the secret better times to go... lol

I really do think they offer more fp's for super busy times like Thanksgiving and Christmas. It gives people hope that it won't be too crowded, and then reality sets in when people arrive and they see the standbye waits (caused by too many fp's being distributed). It makes people grateful for the fp's they have.

Just tried for Anna and Elsa on the 21st. The only times are between 9 pm and 11 pm. So I'm guessing those fp were added with the added hours. We leave that day so a late fp doesn't work.

I am hoping to still get in a little early and get some good pictures. I should have reserved it for two days and then cancelled, but I never thought they would change the times. Lesson learned.

so this kinda messed us up. we always schedule fast passes for 10 ish cause the park opens to public at 9 and we go for extra early hours and take advantage for the lower crowds between 8 to 10. so now they open at 7 early then regular at 8 so now we have a larger gap. . .

do you guys know in the past do they move character meets up earlier too that usually open later. . .

example merida. . . she is 915 ish I think so will she now be 815 ish?

same with other parks. . . Sophia and dis jr come out after 9 right so now will they be 8?

wondering if I should be moving fast passes from the back up to the first if able. . .

Dang! Luckily we have two days during our trip where the park won't open until 9, so I'm checking obsessively to get an early reservation on those days. It seems like the buses should be running by 6:30 am on the day I currently have reserved, but I am thinking it'll be a madhouse trying to get in the park because it's the week of Thanksgiving so my pictures are probably hopeless.

I am wondering the same thing! We will be in WDW Thanksgiving week and am excited that the parks have extended hours, but am wondering if character times will also be set at an earlier time. Right now that week does not have scheduled time for characters at a couple of parks.

I have been watching that week for a while and there was a short window after they expanded hours that BOG and SDMT availability opened up as a result. Both early (SDMT) and late times (BOG & SDMT) were available that hadn't been. So we scored BOG, albeit a very LATE dinner when we thought we'd be out of luck! I suspect with expanded hours some people that had made plans previously may be juggling theirs around a bit too, leading to other availability that might not have been there previously. Woot-woot!

I looked at this sites hours and our trip hours did not change. I looked on MDE and the hours there have changed a bit for my trip. Thanks for this thread, investigated further and found the changes. Love the DIS
