My modification is in tact as well. Do you think they were holding back some inventory, then decided to release it?

Sometimes just ONE room that was out of service (maintenance, etc.) gets added back, and that causes the calendar to show full availability.

I'm really hoping there was a glitch in the system that was holding back cancelled rooms and what showed up this morning was that inventory. My wife, who posted earlier in this thread, and I grabbed 12 nights in a studio at CCV over Christmas (3 in one room type and 9 in the other). We already had BLT for 12 and luckily have enough points to hold onto both and won't need to book anything else until November (for June). Our home is SSR so booking early is not a necessity.

FWIW, I think we are seeing the effect of cancellations made this past weekend. It's approaching the 31 day mark for the 50th and international travelers are still not able to come. Couple that with the increasing number of COVID cases in Florida, and those who were holding out hoping things would return to "normal" in the parks are giving up.

I still have a few more weeks to decide whether or not to cancel our October trip.

I think it is too. I made a cancellation over the weekend for early next year. With things being so bad in Florida aright now I am not risking it. Hope my value one bedroom in AKL went to some nice people who wear masks and are vaccinated.

Question for those who have need victim to a “glitch” in the past - What does DVC do to fix it? I’ve had a reservation for a 1 bedroom ocean view booked for months now. I’ve been looking to change to a 1 bedroom island view to free up some points, with zero luck until this morning, when the 1 bedroom island view suddenly had full availability. I immediately switched over. If it was a glitch, do I get my old room back? If they can cancel my new booking, presumably they can cancel the booking of whoever picked up my ocean view room?

The inventory I was seeing left for Presidents’ Day week is still showing as available now that the site was back up. Encouraging for those who picked up rooms today. Maybe it was a bunch of cancellations that were held up over time? I’m still suspect with it being literally just about every studio type across the board when I saw it this morning for the whole week but people have confirmations and the left over inventory remains after the down time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh man, you guys. I was SOOOO excited when I scored my home resort this morning. I hadn't even seen this thread. I really hope it isn't a glitch, as I cancelled/modified my original split stay. My profile and Dis Experience app shows the BWV booking, so hopefully, it'll stick. I'm so excited to hopefully get my first Welcome Home stay at our home resort! Fingers crossed!

Just got off with ms chat and they say our reservation is active at copper creek for Christmas so we should be good to go will probably still hold onto the BLT one for a while just to be sure but very excited.

Could they have declared a bunch of Rivera rooms? I could see that causing a bunch of Riviera waitlists to match...thus freeing up a ton of availability at the other resorts.

I completely agree. We live in the Northeast and I couldn’t view a news outlet online over the past week without one of the top headlines being about the concerning FL Covid #’s. I can imagine there have been a huge amount of cancellations, especially for people with young children. At this point I’m still planning to go in November. Fingers crossed!

Ok I’m definitely suspicious of the inventory now. Like I’ve said been stalking Presidents’ Day week, have my rooms but I like to see what’s out there anyway. Feb 22 we are going to universal but coming back to boardwalk the day after so we don’t have a day booked on the 22nd so I grabbed the boardwalk standard studio that’s showing available. I went back and searched again after picking it up and it’s still showing available. With how few standard view studios there are I’m suspect for sure.
I don’t have enough points to try booking another without borrowing. Anyone out there have 15 extra points and want to join in my experiment and try booing that boardwalk standard studio showing for Feb 22?
