Found them now...I was on the US site, not sure how I missed them!...must have been my inbuilt "legitimate" filter kicking in
....couldnt find any mention of the format though, but I am curious to what you are comparing them to, have you ever seen the HDTV DIVX captures ? I would struggle to chose which was which between those and the retail DVD's when they come out, I cant see how they can be bettered.


Whats the file size for a 44 minute episode, and also, you dont have to watch these on an Ipod screen do you ?

you can watch them on the computer you download them on...we don't have a mac, just a regular computer....you can view them on the computer, on an ipod or on your tv (if you connect your computer to the tv)..

i have to go look at my son's computer to check on the file size...

for my money, the best thing about them is the guaranteed no virus download....

my son used to download a lot (illegally) but he doesn't anymore....he sticks with the legal stuff..

but he and my daugther download songs from itunes all the time, so it was natural that we would continue with the tv shows....basically we stick with lost and desperate housewives (though i did download one episode of law and order, as well)...

ok...i just looked at my son's computer but i can't tell what the file size is...and he's still asleep....i'll ask him when he gets up (some time before the next millenium)....
i know that they compress the files so that they download really quickly....i watched the announcement of this several months ago (by Jobs and the new head of disney)....but i don't know the file size....it sits inside his itunes file storage on the computer.....so i don't know how to get the file size from inside it..

ok....now i have it....i'll post it separtely....i played a bit and found the information...

the last episode we downloaded, The Hunting Party, is 192 MB

the episode before that one, The 23rd Psalm, is 200.5 MB....

by the way, i disagree about episodes being missable or about the season being slower....
we all feel the second season is even better than the first...

I somehow missed the whole 1st season when it aired, but bought the DVDs and, like the rest of you, spent quite a few late nights getting through them. I'm enjoying Season 2, but we've had a lot of repeats that interrupted the flow a bit. Still, things are really getting intense now...

I'm up to episode 10 of the second series now. I hope it doesn't run till seven series. Think it ptobably has a shelf life of about four years. Gripping viewing at the moment though.

i didn't like the episode from this past week.....probably because i can't particularly stand that character.....

It was a poor episode, thats for sure. Thats one I would describe as "missable".

the story wasn't advanced at all....we learned a bit more about that character, but not in a particularly interesting way....

on the other hand, the most recent two episodes were a big improvement.....and definitely advanced the story......

I have been quite disapointed with this season,not gripping stuff like the first.

Season 2 is now showing on RTE1, 10pm Mondays and repeated at 6pm on Saturdays. Episode 1 was tonight's repeat.
