LOST....*WARNING* Future Spoilers

i just read in the tribune that it will be on briefly, then off the air for like 3 months, then they will air the final episodes.

i guess they had to get off the island sometime unless they are all already dead--hmmmmmmm

When will Season 2 be available for purchase on DVD?

There are supposed to be 7 shows, then off until the end of Jan. beginning of Feb. then back until season end. And they have said they are not showing any repeats next season.

Starting October 4th with 7 episode would take the show to the 15th of November.

Okay scratch that, this is from TVGuide.com

9:11 am: Regarding ABC's decision to air Lost next season in two uninterrupted chunks — six in the fall and 16 in the spring — McPherson says, "We really listened to the audience about the repeats." And yes, you read that correctly — just six episodes this fall!

I don't think I like the idea of showing some shows and then taking a break and then showing the rest. If they are listening to the audience about no repeats, why don't they just show the whole season uninterrupted, like maybe start in January and go through to May :confused3

Because that would be to easy and make too much sense. :teeth: To me what they should do is break each show into two sections. Make 22 shows, show 11 from September to November beginning of Dec. Take off a month or two, to give the actors and crew a break, then show the other 11.

Because that doesn't fit with what they consider Sweeps periods, the times of the year when the ratings are used to determine advertising prices. Eventually it will change, TIVO and all the cable networks using the summer for premeires (USA, TNT, Sci Fi) will force advertisers to look at the big picture but until that happens the networks will continue to save their best stuff for Nov, Feb and May (sweeps months).

Don't count on that happening for quite some time, if ever. Audiences will still only be monitored 'in depth' during certain times of the year, if for no other reason that the expense of doing it. During sweeps, detailed demographic information is gathered. All the other days of the year, in the larger markets only total househoulds are recorded. The technology is there to moniter the set (on/off, what channel) but humans have to report WHO was watching for the demographic.

That schedule is absolutely ridiculous!!!

I absolutely agree and their reasoning is absurd too! I work with a lot of people who gave up watching the show. Their attitude is that they will catch it on DVD!

Spoilers from Kristin @ E! Online:

Hey all!

I'm here at the NBC TCA in Pasadena(where the 30 Rock panel with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin is about to start -- woo woo), but our resident expert Lostologist, Dr. Anna Graham is, naturally down at Comic-Con in San Diego, where a few Lost peeps are dishing out scoop.

I just received this message (via the communication system in the Hatchcicle) from Anna and wanted to share:

Dr. G. here! Greetings from the Klingon County Fair, better known as Comic-Con. It's hot, it's crowded, and it's the scoopiest site on the planet for your fave TV shows.

Here's the word from Damon Lindelof, Carleton Cuse, Bryan Burk, Jorge Garcia and Daniel Dae Kim at the Lost panel.

And remember, you heard it here last!
grin.gif

* First ep of the season is called "A Tale of Two Cities"
* The smoke monster is definitely not made of nanobots
* Kate will "make her choice" in the first six eps of the season. Her choice is presumably between Sawyer and Jack, as opposed to between Pepsi and Coke, in which case the correct answer is obviously Sprite.
* Rachel Blake (as played by the divine Jaime Silberhatz) showed up, live and in person, to bravely heckle the panel and accuse them of collaboration with the Hanso Foundation. She was escorted from the ballroom before I could give read her my latest poem, "Ode to a Geek Pinup"
* The word "clone" will never be heard on the show
* Adewale invented the Jesus stick
* There will be 13 "mobisodes," running about one or two minutes each, likely in the form of a video diary. Per video played at the Con, Hurley apparently found a video camera in the jungle in a heretofore unseen scene. The mobisodes will probably be released to cell phones during the 13-week hiatus between the first and second blocks of new Lost eps, and hopefully be available for download to the general public after a week.
* The Powers That Be all but confirmed Libby will be appearing in flashbacks, most logically Desmond's or Hurley's
* If you're asking about daddy issues, you're asking the right questions
* They were bummed that none of the actors got nominated for the work, and that Battlestar Galactica didn't get nominated at all
* Strong implication that an underwater hatch might exist and that it might be explored this season
* The PTB are still claiming they killed Cynthia Watros off the show for the dramatic impact. The fans still don't believe them.
* Terry O'Quinn wants a knife in his hand in season three, and the producers seem inclined to give it to him
* Carlton teased that the survivors' experience of time on the Island may (or may not) be a realistic experience
* The producers say the hieroglyphics on the timer translate to "underworld"
* Rachel Blake pointed to a new Lost Experience Website: http://www.hansoexposed.com/

Come by Kristin's live chat on Monday for more LOST scoop from Comic-Con!

Some more spoilers! Found these at http://the-lost-files.com

They want to wrap up Libby’s story.

The season premiere will pick up where the last episode left off, specifically focusing on Jack, Sawyer, and Kate.

They are in the middle of casting two female roles and one new male role, hoping to announce them next week.

The new characters are likely to be some of The Others, as the third season will focus “a lot more about the Others, and their society and their history.”

“Locke will be a very different person in Season 3.”

“Penny [Widmore] is an important character in the overarching mythology of the show. I don’t want to say too much about how much she’s going to be in Season 3.”

“The interrelationship between the outside world and the island will be something that will be a part of Season 3.”

The monster and the polar bear will be back in Season 3.

“The smoke creature and the monster are one and the same.”

Walt and Michael are not necessarily gone forever, but Cuse won’t say when they’ll get back to their story. (It will not be immediately)

Cuse hopes that “Cindy [the flight attendant] shows up at some point”, but “she is not at the top of the list of actors we’re servicing.”

“J.J. [Abrams] is going to cowrite the premiere with Damon [Lindelof], and our hope is he will direct Episode 7, which will be the first episode of the new pod (the stretch of episode starting January).”

Has anyone seen the weird "ads" in People magazine about the Hanso Foundation? Checked out any of the links? What does it all mean??

Here is what this weeks "ad" says:

WILL "THE HANSO FOUNDATION" GET AWAY WITH MURDER"

The hacker Persephone exposed their crimes on www.thehansofoundation.org. She shot straight and true. But, just as she was about to give us the WHY behind Hanso's LIES -- she was SHUT DOWN.

Enter: Rachecl Blake and her blog: http://stophanso.rachelblake.com --

It soon became clear: Persephone and Rachel were one and the same. Having shed her mask, Rachel became a standard for everyone to rally around. She was fighting for us, and she wanted answers:

Was THF president Dr. Mittelwerk's research into ancient shipping lanes related to the fact Alvar Hanso's grandfather once captained a slave ship called "The Black Rock?"

Did Mittelwerk really have mathematicians working in secret on an equation predicting humanity's end?

And, what about Mittelwerk's top-secret SPIDER PROTOCOL? Could THIS explain his search for a mysterious island near the equator? Could THIS answer why he'd equip an ocean freighter with hospital wards labeled "QUARANTINE?"

In QUARANTINE, no one can hear you scream.

The questions mounted. Rachel found the answers. She got 'em on tape.

But the truth is deadly. Rachel's hidden fragments of her video all over the web. Find the pieces and put them together at http://HANSOEXPOSED.COM

Help solve the puzzle with me, Speaker, at http://www.insidetheexperience.com

(I typed this out because I couldn't find copy and paste it - so I apologize if there are any typos. If the links don't work let me know). You can find it on page 34 of this weeks People (the one with Brad Pitt from 1988 on the cover).

There was another one like this in last week's People, but my copy of that People has gone to recycle heaven already, so I don't remember what it what about.

Thanks for bumping -- I knew there was a spoiler thread but I couldn't find it so now I'll add it to the Season 3 thread!

Since this thread is 170 pages...who's interested in a Season 3 SPOILER thread?

I see there is a Spoiler free thread
