SPOILERS: (please read post #6 for guidelines about spoilers)
If you post something that you aren't sure if it's a spoiler, the safe thing to do is to change the color of the text to white so that people have to highlight the text. Or you can do it the cool way and turn it into a quote like this (text color should be Lemon Chiffon):
SPOILER - HIGHLIGHT TO READ: I don't know any spoilers but if I did this is how I would do it because it looks cool to do it this way :thumbsup2
You can also go to DIS thread LOST Season 3 **SPOILER** Thread to post spoilers.

IMO episode titles can be very spoilerish and should be hidden.

How do you avoid the titles all together? Don't they show them on your TV or cable guides?

I've never thought of them that way.

Many television-focused websites have battled with the question of what is a spoiler, and when is it no longer a spoiler. One the big ones uses this definition, and these rules:
A spoiler is an important piece of information that, if someone wanted to watch the show without knowing what was going to happen, would spoil the show for him or her. Here are some things that would be considered spoilers:

* plot details for an episode that has not yet had its first American airing (usually first Eastern Time Zone airing)
* plot details for shows broadcast outside the U.S. and scheduled for broadcast in the U.S. at a later time (e.g. when CTV shows The O.C. early, when Degrassi: The Next Generation airs in Canada a couple months before the U.S., when BBC America was behind BBC UK showing The Office)
* unverified rumors about unaired episodes (since the information could be true)
* casting and show info NOT broken in mainstream press

Here are some things that would NOT be considered spoilers:

* content of aired previews and commercials and other first-party promo material
* details of episode after first American airing
* casting and show info broken in mainstream press
* historic facts as they pertain to a show plot (e.g. JFK assassination, Wild Bill's death, etc.)
* idle speculation
* anything that has happened on a show that is not going to be shown in the U.S. to the best of your knowledge (e.g. German Idol)

Generally, if it's floating about in the mainstream press (the CNNs, EWs, APs, and Peoples of the world) as a regular press item, then it's probably not a spoiler and you may post it without spoiler tags.

So, while I know that a lot of folks don't like knowing episode titles in advance, it is the producer's decision to reveal what the titles might be revealing, and so therefore aren't going to be hidden as spoilers by most folks.

Thank you for that information. I never really though of an episode title as being a spoiler since it would be found in TV guide. I was just about to ask what is considered a spoiler. I think those are good guidelines and I will refer to them in the first post!

No spoilers here, but we can't wait for the season to begin! DH & I move heaven & earth to watch Lost together.

I didn't see www.spoilerfix.com mentioned, I don't think. It's an interesting site, too.
