LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

Okay, another question. I thought Jack said that his father was upstairs - that they could go up and get his father and compare them, and if he was more drunk then he could be fired? Was he just so messed up on that he forgot his father was dead? Or is he not dead?

Two hours of Lost at once is a bit much to absorb.

And why was Penny transmitting onto the island if she didn't have a boat? Poor Desmond. Gets to see Penny, not talk to her, witness Charlie drown, have to come back and tell Claire that Charlie's gone, etc. Not a great day.

WTH now I'm really confussed.

They're going to be rescued. Desmond saw Claire and Aaron getting on a helicopter. I don't believe Locke would ever willingly leave that island, unless they force him off...I don't believe Locke is in the coffin.

As far as Jack's ex...it just depends how far of a flash forward it was. It obviously wasn't right when they got off the island.

Oh snap! I forgot about him saying that about his father.

Could just be "hopped up on pills" babble.

My DD knew as soon as she saw the cell phone. She said "Where did he get that phone it hasn't even come out yet?" They must be in the future! She doesn't miss a trick. LOL And when Jack told the other Dr to get his dad down from upstairs I said "See it can't be the future his dad is alive." What did i know. All I can say after tonight is WHAT?

Can someone please tell me what happened from the commercial break before Jack goes to the funeral parlor to the point he pulls up in front? My DVR cut out, because stupid me didn't realize I was running out of space. Thanks.

I don't think it was Sawyer or Locke in the casket. Did anyone not notice that when Jack pulled up to the funeral home it was in the African American part of town. So my guess was it was Walt, Micheal or Rose. Those are the only Afr. Amer. losties right?

One thing about this ep. that bothered me... I think I figured out the whole plot line to the show now... and that is a bummer for me if it holds true to be correct. Here is what I think...
I think Jack is lost (lost himself) after the rescue and seeks someone to turn back time, Ben or the darma ppl (maybe??) so he can go back in time and work with Ben to keep them on the island. With all the hints about space time continueum (sp?) this plot would make sense. That saddens me if this holds true ... I would much rather them be like Gilligan and never get rescued.

When Naomi first landed on the island Sayid saw her cell phone and told her that he's very familiar with technology but had never seen anything like what she had. She quickly said something like "oh it's new" or something. So who knows how far in the future she's from... :confused3

Gom...

He tried to make a phone call and looked at an obit. The kind of zoom in on the font. I'm hoping someone out there enhances the obit and then we might find out who is dead.

My DD picked up on the cell phone too :lmao:

Wow!

Okay, first some questions (baby doesn't always keep quiet during the show) - What did Jack whisper right before he was going to jump and the accident occurred? !

I think I heard Jack whisper "Forgive Me" before he tried to jump off the bridge. Did anyone else hear that?

When the guy at the pharmacy says he recognizes Jack as the hero and Jack says "I'm not a hero". What if that guy isn't talking about the accident on the bridge but about the rescue from the island. That guy is totally amazed with Jack. "Do you know what this guy did!" Sure, he pulled a few out of a car wreck but he would get a bigger "hero's welcome" for saving all those people.

I don't think so. If it Rose, Bernard would be there and Kate would have no problem going to that funeral. If it was Walt, Michael would be there and vice versa.

I think it's Ben or Locke.

Whoever it is, Jack is pretty torn up about it.

I was wondering about that too. Also, I may have heard wrong, but when they first met I thought the chief of surgery said something about Jack being a hero "twice over." [edit: I just realized that maybe he just meant he had been a hero twice by rescuing both the woman and her son.]

My guess is that Jack is the "hero" and gets everyone rescued from the island, but when they return to the real world, their lives are all completely different or ruined, and no one is happy... possibly due to being on a different timeline or alternate reality or one of those theories.

I also don't think that they'll be rescued by Naomi's people. I sort of believe Ben that she's a "bad guy," especially since Penny didn't know anything about her. If they do get rescued by the boat at the beginning of next season or something, I think some people must stay behind - they can't just abandon the island for the remainder of the series.

I believe that Ben is truthful when he says that everything he does is for the island. However wrong it may be. I do believe that.

I love coming here and reading all this before I watch. It helps me see things that I would have otherwise missed. I am also in SanDiego so many of you watch 3 hrs before I do. Thank god for Tivo/DVR and being able to fast forward the commercials. :thumbsup2 I will be watching over the weekend....and can't wait.

Saves you from having to watch it twice like I'm doing. :P

First All I can say is HURLEY HURLEY HURLEY. I said it a few episodes back that he was the real hero of this show.

2nd WOW. This episode really threw a wrench into any thoughts I had about this show. I had just told my wife before it started I wonder why they dont flash to any of these peoples family after the crash. Like is Hurley's mom even questioning what happened. then they flash what appears to be the future.

I like the crack by Juliette about bulding a runway for the Aliens. She had me going for a moment.

My wife who cannot stand this show openly but was really rooting for Jin and Hurley tonight and she also said why did Charlie close the door and stay inside. funny how she knows all these people and never watches the show. Maybe she is Jacob.....:confused3

Anyone think Ben is in the Coffin? that would explain no one being there wouldnt?

I was hoping for a lot more action from this episode but the cliffhanger ending more than makes up for it. Would have loved to seen a preview for season 4. gonna be a long 6 or so months.
