LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

I'm really not finding Kate's backstory all that interesting. The flashbacks in this episode just seemed like a bad lifetime movie to me.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with her story. It was kind of a yawn. And I thought it was way too dramatic: "I didn't tell you he was your father because I knew you'd kill him." HUH!?? Why? I just don't get it at all. :confused3

That's what I didnt get either... So her "step" dad was really here real dad? :confused3 and the army guy was her stepdad ?:confused3

I enjoyed last night's episode........I think partially because it was nearly A-L free! ;) Having the rest of Kate's backstory does shed some light on her Jack/Sawyer attraction. Jack=hot, yet good, therefore she doesn't deserve him. Sawyer=hot, yet naughty, therefore she'll only get what she deserves.

I say it's time for some Charlie/Clair storyline ::yes:: so I think the next episode will provide some of that.

see, I don't think she thinks sawyer is what she deserves, I think its really who she is attracted to but she doesn't want to be...she'd rather be attracted to jack but when it comes right down to it, it doesn't feel like a "fit" for her.

I also think Kate wants to be attracted to Jack, but it's Sawyer she wants. I think that's why she kissed Jack and then ran away, she realized she'll never be attracted to him. Also, when she was talking to Sawyer as Wayne she said, every time I have feelings for Sawyer, I think of you and it disgusts me, or words to that effect.

I am SO hooked on this show.

Do you think anything will happen since Michael started "communicating" with the computer? The film said there may be another "incident" if anyone tried using the computer for anything other than entering the numbers.

Was that really Walt or was it maybe the Others trying to trick Michael?

Will anything actually happen if they don't punch in the numbers every 108 minutes?

Will I ever allow my children to utter a sound again on Wednesday nights between 8 and 9? ;)

Let's see

Question 1 - Yes something will happen - probably a big argument between Locke, Eko and Michael over the computer. Probably more too ;)

question 2 - Walt has communicated with others (Shannon and Sayid) so it probably is Walt.

Question 3 - Those blast doors Michael noticed are there for a reason ;)

Question 4 - Well, that's entirely up to you ;)

Anyone else think of the bacgammon game when Eko and Locke sat down at the table besides me???

Her back story was kind of a let down, but the Marshall was a little to much with the smirky "don't I know you". I would think he would be more subdued to keep her from suspecting something was going on. And did anyone else think that the tree over the house was the same one where she and her friend went to dig up the cigar box.

I think there is more to the backstory with Kate and Wayne the Dad/Stepdad than we know right now. There are too many questions as to why she acted the way she did over finding out that he was her dad and why her other dad (the Army man) knew she would kill him if she found out. I get the feeling that this Wayne guy did something very bad when Kate was young and spent time in prison. Maybe the Marshall arrested Wayne for what he did and because of that knew Kate? He seemed to have a history with her besides capturing her at the bus station. I wonder if maybe Wayne could have killed a brother or sister of Kate's? It just seems like there are too many loose ends there that need tying up.

The one thing that bothered me about last night's episode that was totally unrealistic was the car crashing enough to blow the airbag yet Kate could drive it off with barely any visible damage to the front end? I know how airbags work and it depends on the angle and suddeness of impact and it would need more than someone coming to a quick stop and "bumping" something.

ITA, there is definitely more here than what we are seeing. She seemed very defensive when the Marshall asked her if Wayne had knocked at her door at night. I'm thinking maybe she was molested by him and then finding out he was her real dad that just drove her over the edge.

I was hoping we would find out a little more about the plane that Kate had so desperately wanted.

Call me crazy but I liked last nights episode.

It was nice to have limited AL screen time and the scene with Jack was at least semi-pleasant to watch

When Saywer grabbed Kate's arm and asked "Why did you kill me?" it spooked me.

My favourite line from last night "so....Rose's husband's white" Not the line itself but it's funny coming from Hurley. Why does Jack always have to be so snotty towards him?

I think it's time to focus more on Hurley, Charlie, and Claire :)

I want to know why Hurley was in the institution

Alright I have some bad news. This was on MSN about Lost

Kate just runs from her past on ‘Lost’
As fugitive's story is unraveled, she may be her own worst enemy

Wednesday's episode of "Lost" tried throwing everyone for a loop. When Kate blew up her mother's house, you figured it was her stepfather passed out inside, or maybe her mom's abusive boyfriend — but by hour's end, it was clear that things in Kate's family were a wee bit more complicated.

For that matter, life in the hatch became a good deal more convoluted, with a bunch of questions that won't be answered before Jan. 11, when the next new episode is due.

This week provided the long-awaited backstory on the fugitive with the captivating smile, and yes, it was arson that got Kate on the lam in the first place. That and the fact she tried to punch out a U.S. marshal (Edward Mars, who would eventually track her down in rural Australia and haul her onto doomed flight 815), then absconded with his car.

Granted, the man Kate killed, Wayne, wasn't much of a father figure. He beat up Kate's mother, and was a drunk who made eyes at Kate. But was that enough to make Kate torch the house? (The Zippo she played with at the beginning of the episode was a nice little tipoff.)

Kate's mother didn't think so — and later ratted her daughter out — after Kate walked into the Iowa diner where her mom worked and handed her an insurance policy. When she asked what Kate had done, her daughter replied, "I took care of you, Ma. I gotta go. You're not going to see me for a while."

And how.

I totally agree, Hurley was so funny! Jack was being a real jerk. I'm starting to like him less and less. I'd definatley like to see more about hurley's past and why he was institutionalized.

And I thought this was supposed to be a "No Spoilers" thread. Learning that I now have to wait until January 11th before there is a new episode and more Sawyer just spoiled my day!

Sorry, I just wanted every one to know it will be 6 STINKING WEEKS :earseek:, until the show is back. What is up with that? The same thing happened with another show I watch, Surface. At least they told us it would be back in January with new episodes. Didn't leave us hanging like Lost.

I'm kinda happy there is a 6 week break. I'm out of town next week then my inlaws come, them my mom and grandma. Jan 11 is the next wednesday I don't have house guests. If new Lost's aren't on I don't have to listen to my inlaws complain and get upset that I want to watch. I don't have to try to explain the show to anyone and have them tell me how stupid it is and point out anything that doesn't make 100% perfect sense.

Yep, I'm ok with the break.

Of couse my #2 show Alias will be on and well at least I own the 1st 4 seasons so I can just pop those in when they try to talk my ear off about what's happening. Pulling out 2 DVD's will be a sure fire way to get them off my back.

bigmerle1966,
I was just kidding! Actually, I really am glad to know because otherwise next Wednesday, I'd be so mad if I turned on thinking it was going to be a new show. I'll have to get my Josh Holloway fix some other way.

To those with Tivo or who recorded it - can anyone tell exactly what Sayid is doing on the television?

It's okay, I knew you were kidding. It is actually a good thing for me too, I will be in the World starting next Saturday. :scared1: OH MY GOODNESS!!! I haven't packed a thing yet. :faint:

That would be one less thing to worry about, trying to record all of my shows so I don't miss them

I thought last night's episode was disappointing. There must be more to the Kate dad/stepdad situation. The addition of the tape from Ecko didn't give much more info at all and I wonder why someone would have bothered to cut it out??

The only good thing, imho, was that Kate told Sawyer he seriously needed a haircut and this brings me hope that maybe she'll help clean him up somewhat and cut that mop. Good gosh I don't know what so many of you see in him - YUCK!
