LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

Another thing about the music...it was Glen Miller, another ww2 reference. And you may remember that Glen Miller disappeared while flying a mission during the war. they never found him or his plane. interesting.

For any Deadwood and Lost fans did you notice Sawyers girlfriend/con also plays Joanie Stubbs on Deadwood? I thought that was pretty cool since DW and Lost are two of my favorites.

Thank you! I could not figure out where I knew her from. I guess the dark hair really threw me.

by making him look like a fool for 'losing' the guns. Locke was going to hide the guns from Jack & the rest. Charlie made sure Saywer found the guns so Sawyer can take over or whatever.
Charlie is annoyed with Locke over the drugs and Shannon & the baby. So by humilitaing Locke he feels he is getting some kind of revenge on him.

You mean Claire and the baby. :thumbsup2

You beat me to it. I was going to mention that Glen Miller was lost during WWII when his plane crashed. If I remember right though his plane was lost somewhere in Europe as he was flying to Paris. I also thought that Sawyers comment to Kate about a tiger can't change it's stripes was interesting. He said I con, you run, we do what we do. Finally when Charlie came out of the jungle to talk to Sawyer at the end, I got a whole Dark Lord Sithe feel about the whole thing the way he was wearing his hood up and you were seeing a lot of shadows.

I hope the clock does actually go down to 0, can't wait to see what happens...

Here's my prediction about that: Absolutely nothing happens. I believe the whole thing with the button-pushing originally started as an experiment in human behavior. How long would people continue to follow absurd directions in order to avoid a catastrophe?

As to the rest of it--I'm lost. :lmao:

I also thought when they got the radio to work, the call letters for the station were W something which would mean it was coming from the US East of the Mississippi right?

I thought I heard WUSA, which was also the name of a movie in the 70s about a reactionary radio station. But I might not have heard clearly.

Someone on the Fuselage message boards said it was WXR, which were the call signs for Coast Guard radio in Kodiak, Alaska, in 1945.

there are a few people over on twop that call him Darth Hoodie. lol.

I don't have time to read the previous replies regarding last night's show, but I just have to throw one comment out there...

"There's a new sheriff in town folks"....well, get the cuffs out and arrest me baby! :thumbsup2

As far as the money and Sawyer's girlfriend: My dh says it was a bait and switch. Sawyer actually drove up in that car(remember, his girlfriend never sees the car drive up)....then he tells his girlfriend that someone is waiting to kill them out in the car. Sawyer puts the money in the bag, but actually hands his girlfriend another bag that was on the floor out of sight (remember when she is looking out the window at the car and then Sawyer hands her a bag). He tells her of a meeting place and gets her to run out the back. Meanwhile Sawyer gets into the car on the passenger side acting like someone else is in the driver's seat just in case his girlfriend is watching. He counts to five and then goes back inside to get the bag with the real money in it and drives away.

Sawyer told they other guy in the diner that he would not con her. The guy then threatened to put a bullet in both of their heads.

Are we to assume that was a con and he was going to keep the money or that he was sincere and just buckled to save their lives????

That's the $64,000 question isn't it?

I think Sawyer was also conning his partner by telling him he loved her, this way when his partner threatened to kill both of them he would believe Sawyer would go through with the con to save her life. Little did he know Sawyer didn't really care about her after all.

I know someone raised the question before about whether or not Sawyer has been conning everyone on the island the whole time. I don't think he has. I think when the chips are down you can count on him to be there, but with the whole gun thing he saw an opportunity to turn the table in his favor, so he took it. I think he was having a hard time with Jack and John running the show and telling everyone what to do. If it was me, I would be upset too, after all no one really knows anyone from a hole in the wall. So to follow these people on blind faith is really risky. Now Sawyer has the upper hand and doesn't have to answer to anyone but himself. I guess we'll have to see how everything turns out with him in charge. He may find that it's not so great to be the leader.

I think you're probably right. LOST does a masterful job of showing someone as pretty evil but letting us know there is some decency somewhere in them.

Hmmmm... Very interesting...

That would work with our little Time warp theory, Obi Wan Pinobi.

I think everyone is acting very weird the past two (new) episodes on the island. Very out of character. Getting sick or just stress??
