lost reservation

I am totally freaked out. My daughter and I leave Monday for Pop. I call tonight to request a room closer to the bus stop due to a medical condition. They could not find my room reservation. I talk to 2 different people and it does not show up. The 2nd guy tells me to call my agency. I ask him if it will be possible for it to be fixed and if I will be able to stay there. He says no. They will have to find a place for me somewhere else. I call my agency which is online, essentially. They obviously have my reservation and are in the process of working it out. They assure me there will be someplace for me to go. I have to be on Disney property because I am not renting a car since I am flying with my daughter. I am so upset. I am assuming all the rooms are booked everywhere. Will I get a room on property at this late date? I am just sick.:sad1:

Who did you book from? I hope you get it worked out. That's why I don't like using the online places, if something happens it's harder to get it worked out. Best of luck!

Here's a tip - if you reserved from an agency, you can't call Disney directly about ANYTHING to do with your reservation. You MUST make all requests and changes to your reservation thru your agency. So that could be the very first problem you would encounter when calling them directly.

Take a DEEP breath tho, there is plenty of time between now and Monday for this to be resolved.

I'm moving this over to the Resorts & Booking board.

When I checked in last September they couldn't find my reservation either. I had my reservation number with me and I had booked it online in April and checked it several times... and had received documentation and all. It seemed like they couldn't look it up by reservation number (weird) and eventually found it under a gross misspelling of my name (not sure how they got that as I put it in myself online). This was at POP too - hope it's just something silly like that for you!

Ironically .. and this is strange .. a CM friend tells me that reservation # is ONLY for CRO/WDTC etc. It means absolutely NOTHING at the resort level. Very bizarre.

Ok, I am completely ignorant with these reservations. What do you mean Knox? Does that mean they will see my reservation once I get there? They didn't even have my name. I have to call back in an hour. As long as there is one room at "the inn" for us I will be thrilled. This is our first disney trip.

I agree with the moderator...if you booked through an agency that is why Disney can't see your reservation. That is the MAIN reason why I always book my own stuff, I want to be able to make those calls and make little changes whenever I want. Please keep us posted!

Same thing happened to me last night. They finally found it....under a phone # I haven't had in years and under my 19 year old son's name! ummm...hello :)

I also booked it online and had the paper confirmation from Walt Disney Travel so I know I didn't 'accidentally' book under a phone number from another state or under my child who is NOT going on this trip ;)

oops...just had to clarify that I was CALLING to check on my reservation, I had not actually showed up yet!

Just a little bit of that wondrous Disney "magic" :lmao:

It's ok.. try to be calm -- I know that's very hard to do ;) but I dare say this will work out just fine. As I said before, there's PLENTY of time between now and Monday to get this sorted out.

First off, where are you calling? If you're calling Central Reservations or the Walt Disney Travel Company - odds are very good that they are NOT going to have ANY record of your reservation because it was made thru a travel agent. You're also within the window where the reservation would have downloaded from the main computers to your actual resort. Which is another reason why nothing might be showing up at CRO/WDTC when you call the standard numbers.

Secondly - If and when you speak to Disney directly again, you need to be clear with them that you made the reservation thru a travel agent and who exactly that was. That's a key piece of information. You can't be coy about this. Frankly, I think that calling Disney again will just aggravate you and them. I think you should wait and talk to your travel consultant first thing in the morning.

Thirdly - Even if you get thru to Disney and even if they find your reservation, they can't make ANY adjustments to your reservation.. not even anything as innocent as a room location request.. That MUST be done thru your travel agent. There are very strict rules about reservations made thru travel agents vs reservations made with Disney directly.. and this rule may even be preventing them from finding you in their system. (No foolin!)

You might try asking to see if they can find your Disney Magical Express Reservation. That's usually tied to your room reservation in some way. That might be a way for them to track your missing reservation.

My best suggestion for you... is to take a deep breath and speak to your travel agency in the morning and ask them to confirm everything directly with Disney because when you called today - they had no record of anything.

Finally - a question for you - Did you receive Disney Magical Express Luggage tags or anything in the mail from the Magical Express people about 25 or 30 days ago?

I am on the phone with the agency now. They are talking to disney. Knox, you make total sense to me know. I am slow at times.:rotfl2: That is why I teach 3rd grade!!

I got my magical express a week ago. They did misspell my last name. It did have the Pop on the tags.

The lady at the agency said that they have to call the Disney res. tomorrow morning or I could call them. I told her they could and I would call them back. She said for some reason they did not get the faxed confirmation of my ressie. So I should have a room there. I will know tomorrow.

Knox, thanks for all your info. I appreciate it.

Absolutely NOT a problem. I'm glad if I can help in any way. Even if it's just an ear to listen.

Hey look - I know that DREADFUL feeling especially so close to departure where you think something has gone horribly, horribly wrong. It's not fun, especially when it's something you're looking forward to SO much -- like a Disney vacation.

There's some good news there. If you've got the DME tags etc, odds are very good your reservation exists someplace.. but maybe something got 'wonky'. Perhaps you made your reservation earlier this year (ie: before August) .. it seems like a lot of reservations made before the system upgrades in September got mixed up (wrong names, wrong phone #'s etc) afterwards. This might be a part of that.

I'm confident that you'll find this all works out in your favor .. and by early afternoon tomorrow you'll be back on the happy-train gettin ready for Disney!!

Here's a little pixie dust hoping for just that happy outcome!

Knox

PS> As a complete side-note, it does seem more and more complicated every year tho to book a "simple" Disney vacation doesn't it?

Same thing happened to me. And I was standing at check in with my confirmation info! It's scary and annoying but take heart. It's happened to many of us and everything turned out fine.

Good luck and have a good trip! :)

Good evening. I spoke to my agency today. The guy got it all cleared up and he said that they found my reservation was found. He talked to someone in "wholesale". The lesson I learned is that I will book my trip directly through Disney next time.

Thank you for the information and support. Now it is time to start packing!

Happy Holidays!

Oh I'm so happy to hear it! I was actually worrying about you!!! :)

Just a word of unsolicited advice. Bring your paperwork with you if you have it. Can't hurt, I always say!!!

Have a wonderful time!:wizard:

Thank goodness. I've never booked through an agency before. I was open to the idea until your thread brought up some good points about control of information, etc. I think I'll stick with booking it myself.

I'm glad all worked out, who wants to stress more before vacation??? :-)
