I had a friend take a photo of me with my iphone, and I opened my passport to the photo page and put it on the table and took a photo of it with my iPhone. I used these photos right from my phone during online check in. I didn’t scan anything.
It worked fine.

I hope they get it together. My son turns 18 next February and will need a new one. We plan to travel to Europe and Japan summer 2024 starting in June.

You don’t have to wait for him to turn 18. Adult US passports are issued at age 16.

No. He was able to board with his driver's license & birth certificate.

Thank you for following up with us! So glad he was able to sail, anyway. BTW, did he ever check on his printer/copier?

Not to give people false hope, but not all applications are going slow at this point. We did standard application (not expedited) and were shocked to receive our passports in just over 5 weeks. Soooo, not saying that’s what you should expect, but maybe they’re starting to work through some of the backlog?

Did our granddaughter's mid Feb and still have not received them.
