Lost Our Dog While At Disney

Yay!! So glad that your story has a happy ending! I have a Yorkie too (named Mickey::MickeyMo) and I can't even imagine how sad all of you were and then how elated you were when they called!

Oh my gosh what a relief to hear your adorable little Penny is back with you now. I'm sorry you have to deal with the anguish of seeing her like she is, but hopefully with your care, she'll make a very strong comeback and be good as new.

Sending well wishes to you and your little peanut.

How is your baby doing today? Hope she is feeling better!!! Poor thing--my worst fear, we have a resuce maltese and her half sister, a morkie. They are both so small, especially the morkie, I'm always worried she will bolt if she got scared or be picked up by one of these huge chicken hawks we have around here (our landscaper had said be careful with her because these hawks swoop down and pick up rabbits, and when we first got her she was 2 lbs, and could easily have been mistaken for prey).

Don't be afraid to use your own judgement with the food thing. Slow is very good, but a tiny treat or two during the day I don't think will hurt her.

So where do they think she went all that time, and where did they actually find her--was it far from your home??

So wonderful you got her back. Poor thing.

We had a puppy disappear when we were on vacation once. We never saw him again. The people watching him (and my parents) believe he was stolen.

I'm glad you have Penny home!

I was watching my granddog, Max, about the same time your dad was watching your dogs. One night, when I opened up the front door, little Max, ran out into the darkness! I ran out immediately after him. Fortunately, I never lost sight of him in the dark. I finally caught him but I was winded! He must have darted out after a cat. I hope your dad isn't beating himself up too bad over this.

This is a good time to mention getting your pets micro-chipped in case they are ever lost!

TC :cool1:

So glad Penny is home and hope she is mending. Poor baby must have gone though such an ordeal. Bet she is happy to be safe at home too.

That's a Disney ending if ever there was one! So happy you got your girl back! :cloud9:

:banana: Horray Im soooo glad Penny is safe and sound at home again. In my 40 years I have lost and buried many animals which is never easy but its sooo nice to hear about one that makes it back to its loving home.

Thanks everyone! She is doing great!!! I was so worried about her last night that I barely slept.. kept going to check on her in her kennel but she's doing so good. She's pooping & peeing which is a great thing! She was surviving on bird seed which is amazing. She's looking at me like "where's my food!?" So far I gave her 1/3 of a can today which is supposed to be all she gets but I think I'll give her another 1/4 before the day is over. Tomorrow we return to the vet to have them check out her eye.

My DH got a phone call a little while ago from the vet. Apparently when I was in the waiting area yesterday and telling someone her story, there was a reporter from our local newspaper there and she wants to do a story on Penny. What a little celebrity :cheer2:

I will try to get a picture uploaded soon!
