Lost mail?

WE are having a problem with lost mail. Mailed in the CC bill in two weeks ago plenty of time to get there, problem is it never got there . Now CC company called me and says bill is overdue, told them check is is mail.. looks like I will have to cancel check at cost of 15.00 and send CC company a new check and hope it arrives.. Had the same problem last year with the mail getting lost or slow, mailed a letter home that took three weeks, was only going 200 miles.. Anyone have this problem??

You should be able to find out of they cashed the check first before you put a cancel on it.

Unfortunately, this DOES happen.

Happened to me a couple months ago. Check has never surfaced. I only had a $65 balance on a Department store credit card & they wanted to charge me a $30 late fee, I was furious, called customer service and payed out the bill.

I really need to look into online bill paying

I only do online bill pay for that reason. I do not want my bills to be lost or late. I can't tell you the last time I mailed a bill.

Bank On line billpayers - be careful ... the credit card companies are intentionally changing their addresses so that your payment may not reach them on time. You need to check the addresses frequently or make sure your payment is mailed to the correct address.

I had an instance where a check I really thought I had mailed didn't show up. I called the cc company and got stuck paying interest and a stop check fee (we were paid ahead so no late fee). I thought I was losing my mind because I really thought I had mailed the check. About six months later I got the bill with the check back from the cc company. It had been in a mail truck that caught fire on the way to being delivered! The check and bill were singed. The cc company refunded the interest and paid me for my stop check fee. I pay everything online or in person now. Much easier.

This happened to me with my mortgage payment ....2 weeks later we were cleaning out our bushes and found the envelope under one of the bushes. The mailman parks next to our bushes and then walks, he must have dropped some mail and it may have been windy and my payment blew under the bushes! Try explainig that one to the mortgage company....I can only imagine they were thinking, yea right lady!! We did call the post office just to make them aware.

I used to use my bank billpay option for cc payments then I found that the cc company was 'holding' those checks for up to 3 weeks to make sure they will clear-um, dude, it came out of my checking account through bill pay-they can't send them if you don't have the money. I now do the cc payment through the cc site itself and haven't had a problem. I think I bought 20 stamps last year and still have 10 left.
