Has anyone ever lost anything at the parks or resorts? My son lost his camera on one of the buses and I have heard some great stories of other's cameras or purchases being returned. We're not counting on it but it would be nice.

my daughter left her purse on a bench at epcot. it had all her money and her retainer in it. we were really bummed. my husband called the lost and found and went there the next day and someone had turned it in, with everything still there!!!

My son lost a brand new Addidas slide outside of Casey's Corner during Spectromagic on April 30th. We tried the main Lost & Found for the next few days - it is located at the Ticket Transfer Station outside of Epcot by the kennels - but we had no luck in finding it. There was, however, a huge selection of single slides & flip flops - it's just that none matched his.

Recently, we haven't had luck. I lost sunglasses and my sister lost a white sport jacket. Years and years ago, we reported that we had lost something. (I don't remember what, but we were bummed about losing it.) It was delivered to our house before we got home. We were very impressed.

We lost my DD's precious toy (her very favorite stuffed animal that she takes everywhere with her (since she was under 2 years old.) It might have been in few different places. I called them all. While the cast members (and car rental employee) where helpful, we haven't located it and it seems like a lost cause at this point.

I did email a picture to an employee at SSR, she was very helpful. I haven't heard back from her. This toy has no $$$ value, but is very important to my DD. I am considering calling back and asking if there is anyway to forward the picture to the other lost and founds and see if it is at a park (we thought it was in the resort.)

I still hope that I will go to the mail and there it will be.

Oh and on a good note, my DD left some toys in the drawer at VB last year. We called the resort in just a few hours of leaving. They found it and sent it home to us.

My friends husband left a coat in the closet at Vero Beach also and we were staying there a few days later. They saved it for them and gave it to us.

So things do make it home sometimes.

Let's all pray my DD's "Kipper the Dog' toy somehow makes it home too. (6 inch bean bag stuffed dog made of terrycloth material.)

Was your name or contact info on the camera. My suggestion is at least call. No one was able to help us, but they did try.

When my son was 2 he just loved Minnie Mouse, when we got to WDW he had brought his Minnie beanie with him. He left it somewhere, probably on a bench or in a store...he was just sitting there crying over his lost Minnie and suddenly there was a CM there who wanted to know why is he crying. We explained the Minnie, he went into a store and came out with a brand new one and gave it to our son. He also asked where we are staying and 2 days later we got a message and the original Minnie was at our resort. Our son was so happy now he had old Minne and New Minnie~!

My husband has lost several lens covers and finds a replacement in the boxes they have at lost and found.

The hat he lost on Splash Mountian---nope lost forever...

Haven't had to try L&F at WDW, but DL's L&F gets a BIG :thumbsup2 from the Dale-n-Chip family!

Lost and recovered on the same day: DF's cell phone. Must have fallen off during Soarin' in DCA. By the time he realized it and we got over to L&F, it was there. Maybe a total of two hours elapsed between the loss and recovery. WOW!

Lost and sent via USPS: DS5's Buzz Lightyear stocking cap. Fortunately, it was one bought elsewhere and not exactly like the ones in all the stores at DL. We filled out a L&F form and within a week of our return home, it magically appeared in our mailbox.

For us, the lesson learned was MARK EVERYTHING. Everything of value or importance gets a label with a cell phone number (DH's cell phone gets mine, and vice versa). Removable clothing gets a fine-tip Sharpie to the tag with name and/or cell phone number. Even DS5 gets a tag! :rotfl: But that's because he can't remember ALL the phone numbers separately yet.

Saw a great thread on using the "make it yourself" dog tags at pet stores for ID. Tie them in your kids shoes. . . on your back/fanny pack. . . camera strap. . .LOTS of uses!

I lost my wallet in AK a few years ago. Called lost and found and they said to visit their central holding area at the TTC the next day. My wallet including tickets, etc were all still in there but no money. The CM explained they remove the cash for safe keeping (possibly to put in a safe?) and asked how much I'd had in my wallet. I knew it wasn't much, and estimated $20 or less. She checked their records and started counting cash out for me - about $70 or $80 dollars or so! :)

We always joke that whoever found my wallet must have felt sorry for me and added some extra cash! :lmao:

BTW - we saw all sorts of cameras (including video equipment) in their L&F facility - don't give up hope! ;)

My dd left her camera on the table at Biergarten. We didn't realize it until the next day. I called lost and found and listed a few places we had been since she remembered having it. We gave a description of the camera and case and were even able to give the L&F CM the camera's serial number (dh has it stored in a file we had access to through his phone...modern technology is amazing). That helped.

It will all depend on who finds your item. Someone who's honest will turn it in, someone who's not will keep/sell it.

:cool1: DISNEY MAGIC IS REAL. :cool1: My son got a call at POP from lost & found they have his camera. Being from NY we thought the camera was gone for good (it would be here). It's amazing how when we are at DISNEY our best foot goes foward. I love hearing the feel good stories of people's expereinces (sp) at Disney. I wish it would extend into the real world.

I accidently lost a whole bag of souvenirs in January at the CR. My son was devastated (they were his things). I called the next day after returning home and someone had turned in the bag, with everything in it! The CR mailed the bag to me, free of charge.

My DH lost his ticket somewhere in World Showcase at Epcot. Didn't realized it 'till he tried to get our FPs for Mission Space.

At Guest Relations they asked us where we thought we lost it and they called around to try and find it. They just gave us a new ticket. Very cool!

We lost our camera at Mama Melrose and it was mailed to us a week after we arrived home. We knew just where we had left it, DH left it hanging it on the chair :(

I think WDW lost and found does an excellent job considering the amount of things they manage to return.

Prior to your trip label everything you can - outside and or inside for better chances.

My daughters and their friends are the "queens" of losing things at Disney World. One daughter lost her camera (with it's Pepperidge Farm Fish sticker). We don't know where she lost it, but Lost and Found had it. This same daughter lost her autograph book and somebody turned it into Lost and Found.

My other daughter's friend left her Disney bag on the parade route one night after sitting down to watch the parade. The bag contained her park ticket and "all her money". A Cast Member found it and the girls were able to retrieve it.

Years later, my daughter left her cellphone in the lobby at Port Orleans Riverside. Again, somebody turned it in and she got it back.

None of these things had names and addresses on them. But, there were happy endings anyway.

Now, all of our things contain labels with name, address and cellphone numbers on them.

Just about a month ago, I left my digital camera on a bench in Disneyland. My husband went back to look for it. There was a lady standing there "guarding" it and hoping that the owner would come back to retrieve it.

I highly recommend that everything, including autograph books, have names, addresses and telephone (actually cellphone) numbers on them. We have people at Disney World and Disneyland to be incredibly honest.

Thank you to all those people!

2 years ago we found a camcorder outside the Grand Floridian (on the benches at the bus stop) We returned it to the check in desk. We had to wait about 1/2 hour for our dinner reservation, while sitting on the comfy couches we saw a frantic man come in the lobby(my husband and I looked at each other and smiled) needless to say it was his camcorder....

In Sept of 2003 my boyfriend and I were on our first vacation together, staying at the AKL....we had spent the day at AK and I put him in charge of my almost brand new digital camera....after riding Dinosaur 2 times, we start to head out of the park when I ask him for the camera....yup, he lost it! I was devastated , all our vacation memories were on there, I mean, the camera could be replaced.

we went to Guest Relations at the front of the park and waited around 45 minutes. to my surprise someone turned it in - I was so happy! but the photo memory card must have popped out on the ride, so I had the camera but not the photos...

I'll repeat what others have said here - Disney does an outstanding job at helping to return all those lost items to their owners.. oh, and yes, my boyfriend's not allowed to carry the camera anymore! :rotfl2:

I left my camera on the Magical Express and realized it when we were in the airport. I went to the Magical Express desk and told them what happened. They contacted the bus driver and he found it in my seat. He had to come back to the airport after making a pickup in Disney again. I wish I could remember the man's name that helped me, he was so nice. He took our cell number and addresss and tried to get my camera back before our plane left. He called us about 20 minutes before our flight took off and said that the driver had the camera and was on his way back. It didn't make it there before we left.
They fed-exed it to my house and I had it within a week. I was so relieved, our whole trip was in that camera. Everyone was so nice and did all they could to help. I felt so stupid that I had forgotten my camera. Between the baby and all the other things, it completely slipped my mind. They were laughing and said it was a day of forgetting things for people on the bus. They said people were leaving duffle bags of clothes and what not that day. Lol :rotfl: glad it wasn't just me. My husband was worried that someone would steal it, yeah right, there were and are better cameras out there these days. Disney reassured me that people were very conscientious and turned things in when they found them. It made me feel so much better. :cloud9:
