Guys, I have to break the news to you. It's Sawyer who is leaving the show. Why is he leaving?

Because we are having an affair and we are running off together. :rotfl2: That's the dream I had last night (seriously). I didn't want to wake up this morning!

hmmmm and she tells me I'm dreaming...ha! ;)

:duck: I'm sorry! I know you love him but I'm just not feeling it from Jack (or Kate). I'm starting to like Michael more than Jack :earseek: . Don't hold it against me :(. Here's a :mickeybar to make up for it.

Sorry GoodFairies, I couldn't remember who first said that (about Jack) but I didn't want seem as though I was posting it as my own thought.
Anyway, they do seem to be trying awfully hard to convince us think Jack is good. Hmmmm :scratchin

No need for apologies to me, I was just looking for an easy way to insert more Jack bashing. :rotfl: It's much easier when you have a partner to do it with. Whenever I bash Jack on the other boards I get told he's such a self-sacrificing hero. I need a puking smiley now.

To each his own. I don't think he can be considered very goody-goody or uptight when you consider he probably killed that US Marshal when he had to, and was involved in torturing Sawyer--he has been more complex than they've shown us lately. The writers have just been busy developing other characters so we haven't gotten to see any of his other sides. Although it was hilarious when he asked Saywer about prostitutes and vd in front of Kate.
And you know, saving lives and taking care of people...that's pretty heroic. :teeth:

If he went skinny-dipping, would y'all like him better? :teeth:

Yeah yeah I know. There are just so many things about Jack that rub me the wrong way when you scrape off that whole hero exterior.

1) The way he just sold his dad out. His dad was wrong and responsible for the death of that woman, but it seemed like Jack knew his dad had a drinking problem for quite some time. So why didn't he help his dad out a little sooner, and perhaps he could have helped prevent this woman's death. Then he just threw his dad under the bus without trying to help him. I guess I hold Jack somewhat responsible for that woman's death as well.

2) The way his hero complex carries over into every aspect of his life. It's not enough he has save people everyday at his job; he flew to Australia to try to save his dad (even though he mostly caused him to go there). He stayed with Boone who clearly was going to die while Claire had a baby without anyone qualified to deliver or help if she had problems. Uh, guess all that info about triage just went right out of his head.

3) Related to #2, but deserving of it's own point, because it makes me sick. He married a woman he saved because he couldn't bear to call it off and let her go. She adored him, and he married her even though he didn't want to, didn't even love her, just felt responsible for her. Now, we didn't see this entire story, but the assumption from his little speech at the end is that he did marry her.

4) He is just as much a secret keeper as everyone else on the island, but if he catches someone else doing it, watch out. He called Locke a murderer in front of everyone on the island. He allowed Sayid to torture Sawyer. But sure go ahead Sun and poison someone if it makes you feel better, your secret is safe with me. He seems to think he can pass whatever judgment he wants on everyone.

I'll have to work on a few opinions before I counter about Jack but he does have a major hero complex

Well, since no one is siding with you on this one, I will. I like Jack. I've liked him ever since he was Charlie Salinger. :teeth:

I don't think he thinks he is a hero. I think Jack is like an ogre, he has layers.

I'll side with you, as well........sort of! I am not a huge fan of Jack. However, I would not want to see him leave the show. Every show should have characters that you love and hate. There should be characters that make you laugh and those that you just aren't sure about. That is what makes the show so good, imo. I would hate to see Jack leave. His character does add a lot to the show.

On another note, where has Walt's dog been? I haven't noticed him. Walt would never leave his dog behind but taking a dog on a raft like that probably isn't the smartest thing to do.

Awwww....I think Sawyer/James needs a hug

ETA: I don't think I could love Sawyer any more than I do now. I'm so happy he told Jack.
