My daughter lost one of her crocs a few days ago. One croc was in her shoe basket and the other was MIA. This wouldn't have been a big deal but she has worn these shoes almost every day since we got them in the World on spring break. We tore up her room up and down looking for them. We unloaded every basket, looked under her bed and dresser and took everything out of the closet. I was just deciding if I should buy her new ones or not when I went to take the laundry out of the machine. When I lifted the lid, there was the missing croc, right on top. She must have put it in her laundry basket and I just grabbed everything and threw it in.
So, if she had indeed lost it permanently, what should I have done? Make her save her allowance and buy new ones? Just bite the bullet and buy them myself? She doesn't have any sneakers that fit so I would have to buy something for her to wear to camp. What would you have done?

If it was my little one, then I would probably just bite the bullet and buy another pair. Heck, I'd probably do the same with my teens, but after giving them a bit of a sermon about being careless with their possessions.
