My favorite tip for WDW, and the one that makes me feel safe, is regarding little ones that might get lost.

Before we leave, I stop at one of our local pet stores. I purchase one or two pet name tags and have this engraved on them: "Mom's Cell xxx-xxx-xxxx.

I attatch this to my son's shoe. For athletic shoes, I unlace one and slip the tag through the lace, then relace. For sandals, you can usally find a pull loop on the back of the shoe and the pet tag can be slipped through there.

I tell my son if he gets lost to find a lady who works for Disney, give her your shoe, and tell her to call Mommy.

We've never had to use this, but I like knowing that it's there if we need it.

That's a great idea.

I used to put one of my business cards with my cell phone # on it in my boys pockets and tell them if they got lost give it to any cast member in a store or at a ride.

I was thinking the other night what I could use as ID for DS2. We plan to bring the stroller and the monkey backpack and there will be 5 big people to keep up with him. But, when we evcuated for the latest Hurricane, speedy ran out of the hotel on us (DH thought I had him and I thought DS16 had him) he was only gone for seconds BUT THAT WAS AN ETERNITY TO ME. DH after it was over said he never seen me move that fast.

So, I love this idea, I was going to figure a way to place a card with info on as he does not speak real clear.
Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Great ideas. In addition I always took a picture each morning so I could recall exactly what she was wearing, who knows how frazzled one must be in that type of situation.

We did this when my son was 2 and he was constantly trying to get it off his shoe. We ended up hooking it onto his back belt loop and it worked great.

If you forget or don't have a chance to get one before you leave, there is a luggage tag maker in DTD that engraves for you.

When DH and I took our niece on her first Disney trip when she was 4- I got these and put them on her shoes

I did not want to have to tell SIL that I misplaced her child!:scared:

Thanks I like this idea, too! I will def. do one of the two before I leave. Any other Ideas would be great. I was also thinking of purchasing a personal alarm like the one you see on the energizer commercial. DS2 seems to have calmed down alot but he is only 2 and curious about EVERYTHING around him.

Thanks for your story that you edited out. It helped me to feel less inadaquate about my parenting DS2; never had the problem with DD20 and DS16 when they were young; don't know if it was because I was so much younger. I don't feel any different.

:cool1: These are all great ideas. I read where one expert said to take care, so that the names were not readily readable or available. He said that some predators use familiar names with children, to make them more secure. This isnt to frighten anyone, but we have to keep our kids safe!

Each of my kids have a zip pouch on their lanyard. Inside is a card I printed out and laminated. It has a picture of them , their full name , DH and Is cell #s and the hotel we are at.

I read on Dis for Families forum lots of ideas.
One I haven't tried is to bring a sharpie marker and write your cell # on your child. :goodvibes
Also, you can get those plastic bracelets ingraved with your cell # on them an dthe child can wear them on their wrist or on their ankle. :yay:

We have a walking harness so she won't have to hold our hands if she doesn't want. Then the tattoos and also a wrist travel id. I am carrying both as I don' t know if she will keep the wrist travel id on. Or easily lose it. The tattoos are waterproof which I love! grandma seems a bit embarrassed by tattooing dd but oh well. :rotfl: It keeps her safe and that is what matters!

We also have a harness for DS:)--love it, gives him his freedom my peace of mind. I don't think DS will wear a bracelet, I had looked at the engraved I.D. bracelet. The tattoo's I going to try but I'm afraid he may be allergic so I decided to go with the tags. I figure I could attach to his shoes and he won'tbe bother by it.
Love all the ideas everyone has shared. I really like the idea of taking a picture of him in the morning.

;) I was just thinking...when we were in Epcot in Dec., we stopped in Canada and had the cutest leather tags imprinted for my nieces and nephew. They would be cute to use somehow. They were not that expensive and made quickly. One was shaped like a Mickey Head, another was a heart with Tink on it and a couple of them were hearts. You got to pick the style of lettering and the engraving showed up very well. It was like a little luggage tag. They had bracelets, too. It would just be cool to let the child watch them make it then get to wear it somehow. They also had bracelets. I am getting lots of ideas for my brother and SIL, they have 5 precious ones--2 under the age of 3.

Has anyone tried the child finder bear locator on the precious kid website. I saw the same ones on ebay for $22 which included shipping. I am considering this.
