Lost baggage, when it arrives do you tip?

If your baggage is lost or delayed, do you tip the person that finally brings it to you? Just wondering... My DH says no but I'm not sure. Any opinions?

You probably won't see the person who delivers the luggage to your resort or hotel (unless you are camping out by the front door waiting).

If hotel personnel store your luggage and/or deliver it to your room, they should receive a tip. After all, they had nothing to do with the delay.

I agree. That happened to me on my arrival day and I had to deal with the fact that the person delivering really didn't cause the awful delay! I tipped!

I would tip. The folks who delivered your luggage probably didn't lose it.

If it was Disney, demand a reasonable credit for your trouble. Don't take it out on the person who finally brings it to you.

Travelling for work I have had my luggage delayed several times and the majority of the time the airline rep who delivers your luggage does NOT wait around looking for a tip. They generally leave it with the bellman/front desk and are quickly on their way. Most of the time I just ask whoever calls to tell me luggage has arrived to just bring it up. This person is hotel staff and they are tipped accordingly.

I just had a delivery person come to my house with all my luggage. She told us that she gets paid A LOT by the airline so I'm assuming she doesn't rely on tips alone.
