Lost and confused.....

Hi there...we are travelling from Scotland next year on a once in a lifetime trip to Orlando courtesy of Grandma...and I'm totally bewildered...the multitude of park options is overwhelming and I don't know where to start...our kids are 9 and 11 and I'm worried that they may find Disney 'too babyish'. To add to the confusion my 11 year old is registered blind and uses a cane...will she need extra assistance and what help is there for children with disabilities? Any help or information would be gratefully appreciated

Welcome to the Dis. I think you'll find most of the information you need on here. Just get comfortable and browse around. I also think you'll find that there is NO better place to vacation with a child who has disabilities than WDW.

The planning is part of the fun, so enjoy and take notes of the really important things you run across. There's so much information here that it's easy to get confused.

Hiya and welcome to the DIS!!

Your children will not find disney to be babyish at all. It is a wonderful destination for people of any age. Disney is very good about accommodating those with disabilities. You should probably go check out this forum: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20. They will help you out with any questions you might have.

Both of these sites also have complete menus of the all the restaurants. It is very helpful to check those out before you go so you can make the proper reservations.

You may also want to check out the book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World." It has a ton of information in it to help you plan your trip.

Do you know yet if you are planning on staying offsite or on disney property? I would suggest staying on property because I find it too be much more convenient and you can take advantage of extra magic hours.
