Hello ladies and congrats. I just found this thread and hope it helps to inspire me.
I have been procrastinating and have been making every excuse in the book not to exercise. I hate to sweat. For the past 10 years I have slowly added 10 +lbs a year. I am 5" 8" and at my highest weight now of 262 lbs.
I used to be very active and a Model and a former Beauty Queen. Ate like a lumberjack and never gained weight. Always weighed between 115-125 lbs.
I was always too thin.... had to gain weight in order to get pregnant.
After my ds (16) was born I weighed 155 lbs and thought I was fat. Became pregnant again and several miscarriages later I just started to slowly add more weight.
Blamed my weight gain on my thyroid. Refused to have any pictures taken of me and destroyed the ones I didn't like ( total denial). Would go on a crash workout and diet...lose 10 lbs ...stop and gain 20lbs. I can go all day without eating. My doctor told me my body was in starvation mode and that I need to speed up my metabolism. Joined weight watcher and gained weight. Have been taking ALLI for a year...no weight loss
Never had a full length mirror in the house.

No more excuses.
I have put up a full length mirror in the bathroom.
I vow to open the Wii fit that has been sitting in a box for a year.
I will take care of myself.

Ladies by being accountable to y'all it may get me off my fat butt.
DH and DS(16) want to do the Segway Tour at Wilderness Lodge in September. There is a weight limit of 250LBS. I will be so embarrassed if they don't allow me to do it.

You all have been doing a fantastic job and hopefully give me the motivation I need.

Welcome I am no stranger to miscarriages and fertility issues. But I have come to a point in my life I am happy with my daughter now just get back in shape and healthy to give her the best momma I can be.

Open the Wii Fit up and also go get Wii EA Active it will kick your butt in a good way,

So... just back from the stores looking for clothes. Ugh, so depressed now. :headache: Wow, I've let myself go and I've been in denial for so looong!!! ENOUGH! I have to do something. I just don't know where or how to begin. :confused3 I've always known that I'm top heavy... but have finally realized that I'm bottom heavy and middle heavy too! HELP!!! Where and how do I start?

A little about me... I'm 34; a stay-at-home mom to three; a homeschooling mom; and I hate exercise (and scales and cameras too). But, I love, love, love sweets... especially cookies and chocolate. And if they're chocolate cookies, well then just forget about it! :rolleyes:

We have a big family trip planned for the first week of December and I would love to be comfortable in my clothes for that trip. I would LOVE to look good in the pictures from that trip. I'm always the one taking pics because I don't want to be in the picture! But not just for this Disney trip... for my kids, for my wonderful DH, and for me... I want to be thinner and healthier!

I'm sorry to ramble on like this... I'm just so depressed tonight about my body and finally want to do something about it... seriously do something about it.

So help... how do I start? Where do I start? I just feel so overwhelmed.

Jen they way I started was with sparkpeople.com its a free site. You put in all your info and it will tell you exactly how many calories you need to be eating, it will even make a menu for you!
As of today I am at my 1/2 way mark I have lost 30.5lbs!

As for exercise try to sneak it in, like take the kids for a walk around the block with you, play a game of soccer try and do fun things that make you forget you are exercising. Volleyball is another good fun exercise.

I am hoping to lose another 15 by the time I get to disney and look a whole lot different in the pictures this year!

Jen I think many of us that post on this thread have had the same feelings that you expressed! This is a great place to vent and get support! We are "all in this together" (too much High School Musical:rotfl:) When I feel discouraged, I come and read the posts for inspiration and motivation! I learn new strategies, wrap my mind around new ideas and keep myself motivated. I took an online course for dealing with overeating from a biblical perspective. I have lost around 15 lbs. using the website: www.settingcaptivesfree.com

Hi Jen and welcome to you! It is an overwhelming undertaking to change your life. That is exactly how you have to think of this, it's not a diet, diets are short lived, it's a lifestyle change. Start by making small changes, switch to calorie free flavored water instead of soda, stop using sugar in your coffee, eat fruit salad in place of sweet snacks. It will take a while but wrap your mind around a 'new normal'. As far as exercise, start slow with that as well. Like devinfl mentioned, take brisk walks, play outdoors with your kids, and then build on that. Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint. And also remember that we're always here when you need inspiration and motivation.

I've been lurking... but I find this an inspiration... I want to join in too. (Lisa, we'll be at DW the same time.. (I'm photo pass daisyyy)... I have been struggling with losing the baby weight... (from 11 years ago).. :lmao: but honestly... it's been 16 months since I had my youngest, and although I have been losing it a little, I'm still heavier than I was before I got pregnant. I feel like I've hit a wall... I do want to feel good, and look good in the photos... instead of hiding behind someone, or just not being in the pictures. I remember the last time we went I was trying to avoid it, and then seeing myself afterwards, and being in denial about my weight. I've got 103 days to go, and hoping I can still drop a size or two. But... I haven't had a scale in my house in years, and really don't want one. I don't want to be obsessed with the number... but more so, just the way I feel, and how my clothes fit, so I'm looking for a little support and encouragement, tips, advice... So far, I've given up the nightly ice cream, and big lunches. I have started walking during my lunch hour. I may have to invest in the Wii Active. It sounds like a winner. So... what are we going to do when we get to free dining? I'm afraid if I do make progress, I'll end up going backwards at Disney. :scared1:

Inline skating is kicking my butt - but in a good way, I get really mad when I miss a jump. I have upped my intensity to hard the last 3 days and I am not going back to medium. It isn't easy but it is doable for me.

I am terrified to get on the scale tomorrow - the scale has not been good to me. As others have posted, the scale fluctutes so much. I haven't lost much the last two weeks. BUT I am not giving up - my trip is in two weeks! I am running out of time.

And it's motivating to hear all of your stories of success. Congratulations to all of you that have lost weight and are reaching your goals! :thumbsup2

My trip is in 19 days ... we'll be there at roughly the same time. We're staying at Saratoga Springs from June 26-July 4. What about you?

KPH500 - we leave 6/21 for Kidani Village than switch over to SSR on 6/26 until 6/30. We will overlap. I have a crazy busy weekend with work, church and DS birthday party stuff but as of Monday I plan to be in full blown disney world mode - cant wait to pack and get organized.

On a different note - scale says up 2LBS from last Sat - I did cheat a little last Sun and Thurs but very little - I have exercised very consistently with the Wii Active and TM- I dont know what I am doing wrong - this makes a net of plus 1 for the last two weeks (last week lost one lb) I am very frustrated.

I am still addicted to the exercise and feel like I am in the best shape in a long time - I dont have any aches and pains in my back and neck like I used to and I am starting to have a little contour/shape to my triceps (dont laugh at me but I am very proud of this little) So why havent I lost weight in over two weeks!!

Sorry to vent - have a good weekend everyone.

I'm going to to bet you are gaining muscle with the active. I know it can be frustrating when the scale doesn't move, but give it a little more time. Have you thought of using measurements instead of a scale? This way you can see if your waist has gone down and your triceps up. Good luck and keep going.

Just reached the half way mark on the Active 30 day challenge. I really love the active. I've been bragging on it at work so much that 3 ladies went out and bought it this week.

Well I'm off the take my puppy to the vet, have a good weekend everyone.

I Love Love Love that little tricep bump and am very fond of my own these days as well! :rotfl:

Don't fret about the number on the scale, haven't you heard... muscle weighs more than fat!! :cool1:

ps... Would love to hear your view of AKV Kidani. It's our home resort, we bought sight unseen. Hoping to sneak in an adults-only long weekend anniversary trip in November.

Yea you can I started on May 26th I meant I was on Day 11 I have done 9 workouts (have to do #10 today ) I have only taken 2 rest days.

I love the inline skating and mostly I like the active all together ... the only issue I have is with the resistance band it hurts my hands sometimes.
I am feeling energetic and really starting to notice my part of my belly that flops over is shrinking.
