Losing the best job I ever had....

Well,I join the ever growing ranks of the unemployed next week AGAIN....

My wonderful, but temporary job here at the Senior Living resort ends next Friday. They originally promised me about a month and a half and I've been here about 2 months. During that time we went from 91 residents to a FULL house of 113. I don't even have any more models to show!

During this time I've been blessed with 20 new mothers and 5 new dads, all sweet and precious souls I thank God I had the pleasure to be around.

I have never loved a job like this, for the first time in my life after 22 years in broadcasting, I felt like I did something that MEANT something.

Well, I guess I could use your prayers and good thoughts. I will miss this place and the residents. I know I will find something soon and Michael and I will finally get into some semblance of normalcy again.

Aww Robin. I know how hard it is to walk away from the elderly people who touched your life. Some are very, very special, aren't they? Just hold on to those memories and they'll carry you a long way.

Honey I feel your pain. Losing my job on the 30th and have been applying everywhere I can with no luck. To bad we couldn't get together at 50's PTC for a milkshake and french fries to make us feel better! Good luck with your search.

Thank you, you all are so sweet.

I went on my regular tour of the property. One of my Moms, a total reproduction of my real mother, stopped me and told me to walk with her. She handed me something to give to Michael, she said to tell him it was from his "look alike Grandma". She gave me a gold dollar. I cried like a little baby. This woman is 94 and the sweetest person I ever met. She sort of adopted me and Michael as her own. I can't tell you how hard it will be not to see her everyday....

Maybe I do need that milkshake and fries, s&k'smom! Nothing like good old comfort food to heal a broken heart....

It's too bad there isn't some other job for you there since you like it so much. There must be other retirement communities opening. Perhaps there is something similar for you there.
