O.K., here's the deal:

I realize my trip is still several months away, but I am what many of you are . . . a voracious planner! I like to have most if not all of my plans nailed down WAY early, and then I can tweak them if need be.

Now, here's my problem:
The new EMH procedures have screwed me up! :confused3

I guess it's still so new that I don't quite grasp a full understanding, but what I do know is this: I can't plan our schedule because I don't have adequate information. I want to book a CRT reservation, but don't want to do it on an EMH morning at MK. I want to be able to plan which parks we will visit on which day, but don't have any way of knowing, for example, if the afternoon we plan to be at MGM is an EMH evening and will be overcrowded with on-site guests (we stay off-site).

If anyone can help calm me down, or at least give me some insight as to how to gather "early" information to help me plan, I would be eternally grateful!

I know what you mean...our 90 day mark for PS' is a month away and I don't really know how to plan. We usually plan our meals around our park days but with the new EMH I have no idea what to expect, especially since there isn't much consistency to the schedule. I am kinda going off what we did last year and hoping for the best. Good luck!!

my recommendation is to look at the park hours and emh's that are published and try to find a 'trend' which i believe there is... make your ps' accordingly based on that and tweak them when the actual hours are released...

depending on when you are going, and how crowded it will be at that time, being at mk for crt on an emh will not be the end of the world, and personally, i don't think mk will be too bad in the morning if emh is in the evening that day... i would not let this little glitch on the radar get me too upset... it's not worth it, and no matter what the hours, it's disneyworld and you will have a magical vacation! :)

Trust me I know exactly how you feel. Last year I had our May trip planned months in advance and then Disney came out with the EMH test for several weeks in May which was the exact time we were going. I had to change my schedule completely, but it all worked out in the end. Are you getting tickets with the Park Hopping option? I found that this feature on our tickets really helped. That way when I got CRT reservations we went to MK for that and then switched parks for the rest of the day. We are going back in May and I have a schedule penciled in but will have to change it based on EMH and PS that I get. I start calling on Tuesday for PS. Luckily this trip we are staying for 12 nights which gives us a lot more flexibility than last year. I say plan what you can now and then just switch the days around once your PS is made. Stay calm and enjoy your trip.

I wasn't sure I was going to, but because of all this "up in the air" park hours and EMH I think I have to. That way I won't get stuck in an overcrowded park!

Just wait until you have teenagers........planning and the teen years just don't match up. It has really changed our trips to WDW.

I guess you haven't heard...Disney has a new policy of completely changing park hours, the EMH schedule and seating times several times throughout the day. Plus they've started moving attractions around the parks. I hope this makes you feel a little calmer.

Is it still in Florida, or should I call before I leave? :rotfl:

I think you're ok for now. The state-park swap program doesn't start until 2007. Can't wait til it arrives up here!

This swap thing sounds great! I'd send FL Six Flags over Georgia :crazy2: for one section of MK!
