How does DQ work?
I believe you buy ticket (I did from Mapleleaf) and then go in and play games and ride some rides.
Is this correct? It not please school me, I have never been there but we are going this trip.

thanx

Talk about losing brain cells - you asked questions that I haven't even thought to ask, though I could really use the answer. Thanks! (Sorry I don't have the answer)

DQ is really neat. My DS (7) loved that place. You'll enjoy it, I have read that it can get quite crowded during the summer, I was there last September, weeknight and there were not very many people, we did everything we could (DS was not tall enough for a couple of the things in there) in a couple of hours and had a blast, don't miss the Pirates or the rowboat (not sure what these are called).

Is this part included on the Ultimate Park Hopper pass??

I don't think so but I thought it might be??

I am pretty sure it is included in the Ultimate Park Hopper Pass

DQ is included in the UPH

most people seem to stay 3-4 hours and it gets busy at night, especially after the parks start closing.

the rides and games are all included except the ones that give prizes.

DQ is either a one-ticket, one-time indoor game park, or unlimited in an Ultimate pass, or Annual pass.

I found a really good unofficial site on this place, by one of the DISboard members:

http://www.10-7.com/disney/pages/DD/DQ/disneyquest.htm

I learned a lot about DQ from CWIPPERMAN's site. I am going there for the first time in September.

hucifer -

Thanks for the link. That was the most informative site about DQ that I have seen.

dsnycrzy -

We (Mom, Dad, DD11, DS9, DS7) went a year ago on our "out-of-park" day. We were in line when it opened at 11:00 AM. We planned on staying about four hours. We ended up taking a break after five hours to walk around the DTD shops and then going back for another couple hours in the early evening. I am not a big video game person, but really enjoyed CyberSpaceMountain and several of the other attractions. I learned that I don't do well with VR, but there was plenty to do. The kids really didn't want to leave.

My tips:
1. Get there early - it is crowded in the evenings, with more teens and young adults and fewer families.
2. If your child is on the borderline for the height restrictions, have them "measure tall" first thing and then do not remove the wristband. My DS7 desperately wanted the wristband off, but since he measured just barely tall enough for CyberSpaceMountain, we didn't want to chance him not measuring up later in the day.
3. As with all of WDW, experience the most popular attractions first to avoid lines.
4. If your kids are really young (5 and under), skip it. IMO, unless you have UPH passes, you will not feel that it is worth the separate price of admission unless your kids are old enough for it. My DS7 was on the younger end of the age spectrum. He loved it, but if he was too short to ride, he would not have loved it so much.
5. We bought combo passes which included $10 certificates for Planet Hollywood for a little more than the regular list price of the DQ passes themselves. There are deals to be found.

PoohFanKC, you are very welcome for the link. But all the hard work and great information goes to CWIPPERMAN.

Thank you hucifer for the link & thank you WIPPERMAN for the site. I have heard lots of little things about DQ, enough to know my kids would like it, but not enough to tell my friends who we are traveling with that they will like it too. ;) This site has so much info!! Thanks again!

Thanx all,
especially thanks to hucifer (and CWIPPERMAN).
Until now I could never find any info on DQ.
I also went on and checked out BB too b/c that's another thing we're doing this trip that's new to me. I like what I see but I am staying away from that 6o mile an hour drop one.:D

At DQ I am looking forward to the Buzz ride (and so is DS7) now.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I checked out the site too and it is great. Thanks to both of you.

Now, where's CWIPPERMAN so we can thank him in person?

Did someone call my name????

Thanks for the kind words about the site. It actually makes me feel somewhat ashamed that I haven't finished so much of the site. When I got back last year, I was gung-ho, and got a lot of info. put up while it was fresh. I then got distracted with my main website (www.10-7.com - it's a "Law Enforcement" website, and it's where the Disney Pages are hosted), and have left much of the Disney stuff unfinished. And, now that I'm planning a return trip this upcoming September, I will have much more to add to the site.

I just want to stress that when I put my words down on the screen, I describe things as I see them. You can find dozens of sites with general information - but I'm not trying to sell anything from my site (well.... I do have some great two way radios for sale), so I don't have to worry about making someone mad with my opinions.

I will make an effort to try to get more of the site done before I leave in September - that way I will be able to concentrate on fresh photos when I get back.

Once again, thanks for all of the kind words.

Ah DQ - makes me miss the bigger DQ that was here in Chicago - still that big blue facade next to the abandoned "Eerie World Cafe." Anyway another hint is do not go to DQ if the weather is bad - it seems like a good idea - which is why it will be packed, especially now that it is included on the Ultimate Hopper ticket.

Things not to miss:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Virtual Jungle Cruise (note that on the screen at the begining, the park in the background has both MK's Cinderalla Castle and DL's Matterhorn)
CyberSpace Mountain
Invasion!

andf it's always fun to buy the toy you designed at Sid's Create a Toy
